This house was going on the market.

The photographer was coming at 2.

And the HVAC system had just thrown an error code.

Danny was there for a routine maintenance call. He could've rescheduled. Come back another day.

Instead he called Scott.

Two technicians. Thirty years of combined experience. Working the problem together — tracing it from the thermostat to the furnace to the outdoor units — until they found it.

A wire inside the condenser had dry rotted.

Not obvious. Not easy to find. But exactly the kind of thing that shows up during a home inspection — or after the new owners move in on a hot July afternoon.

They rerouted the wiring, tested everything, and got it running clean.

The photographer arrived on time.

The house sold without a hitch.

This is Lee Chapman — Army veteran, founder of Comfort Technology, and the kind of dad who taught his son the trade by holding him to the same standard as everyone else on the team.

Pictured here with Becky, their son Jacob, and his wife Raegen — who also happens to answer the phones and keep the office running at Comfort Technology.

Why Is Water Dripping Around My Indoor Unit? ☕️ SATURDAY MORNINGS: Ask Lee!

With summer humidity arriving across Hampton Roads, this is a question we start hearing more often.

Every Saturday morning, Lee answers one of your real HVAC questions right here.

Today's Question:
"Why is there water around my indoor HVAC unit?"

Lee's Answer:

Your air conditioner removes a surprising amount of moisture from the air.

That water normally drains safely away through a condensate drain line.

When something interrupts that process, you may see water where it shouldn't be.

Common causes include:

✅ Clogged drain lines

✅ Algae buildup

✅ Dirty filters causing freezing and thawing

✅ Drain pan issues

Signs to watch for:

✔️ Water near the air handler

✔️ Musty odors

✔️ Increased indoor humidity

✔️ AC shutting off unexpectedly

This is one problem that's worth addressing quickly because water damage can become expensive.
