Today we’re recognizing our LaPorte boom truck driver, Nick Krcilek!

Nominated by a coworker, Nick was recognized for taking the initiative to help move I-joists on a recent jobsite, saving the crew time and extra effort. What may have seemed like no big deal to Nick, it made a big difference to the team and helped strengthen an existing customer relationship.

This is just one small example of the many ways he shows he cares about the safety and well-being of our customers.

Thank you, Nick for your willingness to step in and help and for being such a great asset to Big C!

Forklift Safety Month! 🦺

As a lumberyard that operates forklifts and other heavy machinery every day, it can be easy to get comfortable with the routine and become complacent with everyday safety procedures.

That’s why our Safety and Fleet Managers put together a presentation emphasizing the importance of regular inspections, proper safety precautions, and always being aware of your surroundings while operating a forklift.

We’ve also set weekly safety goals at each location to keep safety top of mind throughout the month.

It means a lot to see our employees willing to listen, learn, and continue to put safety first. Thank you for doing your part to keep yourselves and those around you safe!

A special shoutout to Jayden, Doug, Justin, and Cory out of our Roseland location!

Our Priebe’s team recently took on a BIG project; The Huntington Firehouse and when they became overwhelmed with other work and were up against a tight deadline, the Roseland team jumped in to help!

With 32 of the 34 tall cabinets requiring multiple delivery trips in the Priebe’s van and small box truck, Jayden, Doug, Justin and Cory stepped up and delivered the cabinets to keep the project moving. 💪

From start to finish, this project was a true team effort. We’re proud to see our teams jumping in, helping each other out, and doing whatever it takes to get the job done!

Several of our Career Development members had the opportunity to spend some time with our President & CEO, Bill, walking through a new home build by Place Homes.

Bill took the group through the home from the ground up, breaking down everything from framing details and roof components to wall systems and so much more. It was a great opportunity to see how all the pieces come together and gain a better understanding of the building process! Thank you, Bill for your time and knowledge. 🏘️
