Lake Bridgeport was selected for this month’s GBC member tournament. This is a 5-bass tournament. Lake Bridgeport has largemouth, smallmouth and spotted bass. According to www.boatlaunchramp.com, there are no ramp/launch fees.

Dates: 12 & 13 September
First Cast: 6:00 AM

Lake Brownwood was selected for this year’s Gene Warford Memorial Tournament, the GBC Club Championship. This is 2-day, combined weight tournament with a 5-bass limit per day. This is a members-only tournament; guests are not allowed.

Lake Brownwood is off-limits from 19 September through 1 October. Members can pre-fish on 2 October.

The backup lake will be Lake Whitney.

Dates: 3 & 4 October 2026
First Cast: 7:00 AM
Weigh-In: 3:00 PM
Weigh-In Location: Dam Ramp (AKA Public Boat Ramp)

🚨 IMPORTANT TEXAS TOP 6 UPDATE 🚨

Due to the current lake levels and uncertainty surrounding ramp availability on Cedar Creek Reservoir, the Texas Top 6 will be moving to Lake Texoma at Denison Dam.

This was a very difficult decision to make. We understand that changing locations this close to the tournament is a huge ask for our clubs, anglers, and families. However, the safety of our anglers has to come first, and we feel this is the best decision for this year’s event.

We also know that many of you will now need to make new lodging arrangements, and we are doing everything we can to make that transition a little easier.

We are currently working with several local hotels to secure discounted room blocks for our anglers and families. If you can hold off on booking lodging a little longer, I will share information on that in the next day or two.

Tournament Date: September 27th
Official Practice: September 25th & 26th
New Location: Lake Texoma, Denison Dam

We sincerely appreciate everyone’s patience, understanding, and flexibility as we work through this change. Please share this information with your club members.

Update on John Jones

Hi Bill, this is Vicky, John's wife. I was just calling to let you know John made it good through surgery. Um, he's being sedated or like 48 hours getting trying to get all of his levels correct and in sync. But he's doing okay for now, and we'll keep you updated, bye.

Hey Bill. I wanted to let you know that I missed the last meeting because I was in the hospital. And have been for a couple of months. Tomorrow I will be getting a heart implant that will either save my life or I will be gone. I want to remain a member for next year, but I may not be able to attend in October. Tell the club my intentions. And wish me luck on this ride of my life. Thank you.

Stillhouse Hollow Lake was selected for this month’s GBC member tournament. In accordance with Section 3.20 of GBC Rules & Regulations, this is a 3-bass tournament due to the summer months. Please note the 1:00 PM weigh-in time for this tournament. I’ve heard there might be ramp fees and found a 2023 rate of $5 per day, so plan on having some cash on hand just in case.
