On May 29, 2026 at approximately 5:40 pm, deputies with the Scott County Sheriff’s Office responded to the area of Ironworks Road and Midway Road in reference to a motor vehicle collision involving a passenger van and motorcycle.

Deputies arrived on scene and determined that the Georgetown/Scott County Collision Investigation Unit needed to respond due to the severity of the collision.

At this time, one operator has been transported to UK Hospital due to suffering serious physical injury. This collision is still under investigation.

Thank you to Georgetown/Scott County Fire, EMS/ EMA and all others for their assistance controlling the scene.

Over 2,800 impaired drivers were taken off Kentucky roads and waterways in 2025 by the 60 law enforcement officers who received the MADD award this week.

We are proud of the 3 men recognized from our department: Deputies Jacob Patton, Jalen Thomas and Devin Helvey for their hard work and dedication to the citizens of Scott County and the Commonwealth.
