To offer additional support to all law enforcement personnel across the state, Attorney General Russell Coleman's office accepted applications for the first-of-its-kind Law Enforcement Peer Support Grant program in Kentucky.

The Scott County Sheriff’s Office was proud to be recognized yesterday as one of those recipients.

This grant provides up to $5,000 for local officer mental health teams. We were one of only 8 agencies across the state to successfully apply for and receive funding for the grant.

Eligible Uses:

• Overtime pay for peer support specialists
• Mental health training and education
• Equipment needed for peer support teams

We are thankful for opportunities to be able to provide support for our deputies at no expense to our community.

🚨 UPDATE - SUSPECT WAS APPREHENDED LAST NIGHT 🚨

Superb work by our deputies investigating, tracking and putting themselves in harms way the last couple days to bring Mr. Smith to justice.

A special thank you to assisting law enforcement agencies and cooperation from citizens that assisted our investigation.

The Scott County Sheriff’s Office is attempting to locate Matthew Smith.

Mr. Smith is the suspect in multiple active theft cases.
