Not a bad view from the office window.

A few days ago, the third WORD Rock Drill for Brooks Construction was loaded up and headed out, and we have to say, seeing a brand-new drill leave our shop never gets old.

There’s just something about watching our assembly team’s hard work roll out the door, ready to get to work in the field. Big thanks to our crew for making it happen and to Brooks Construction for trusting WORD Rock Drills.

Now that’s a beautiful sight.

POV: You’re in the skid steer, helping bring 1,800 acres of solar work to life.

Our customer Conductor Power is building out a large-scale solar field with 5 SS WORD drills on site, and this view comes straight from Clinton, our newest Field Service Technician. From the operator’s seat, Clinton captured George training the customer on the drill controls, which is a key part of getting a crew comfortable, confident, and ready to work.

At WORD Rock Drills, our support doesn’t stop when the equipment leaves our shop. For customers who want additional hands-on support, installation and on-site training can be added to their drill purchase to help get the machine dialed in and ready for the field.

Five drills. 1,800 acres. One jobsite built to power the future.

Sandstone. Shale. Air moving. Hammer hitting.

This is the part you don’t always get to see from far away. Up close with the WORD Rock Drills SS5DDS as FC Solar predrills for ground screws in Ohio. The cuttings are clearing, the hammer is working, and the SS5DDS is steadily chewing its way into the ground one hole at a time.

Built for tough ground and keeping production moving. This is the power of Make A Way at its finest.

Over the past year, Andrea has become such an important part of the WORD family, helping keep things running smoothly behind the scenes in Accounting while also being a friendly voice many of our customers have gotten to know when calling in payments. Her attention to detail, steady support, and willingness to jump in wherever needed make a difference every single day.

And of course… no company gathering feels complete without Andrea bringing her momma’s famous banana pudding!

We’re so thankful she joined the team last year and can’t wait to see all that’s ahead. Happy WORDiversary, Andrea!

Our Field Service Tech, George, was recently on site with the TorcSill team for this install, helping get them set up and ready to put their new WORD drill to work.

In these few seconds on camera, this clip shows an important part of the drilling process: the crew observing the operation while the drill is being run by remote. When you’re preparing the ground for foundation work, control and visibility matter just as much as power in the ground.

Predrilling helps crews make a way through tougher subsurface conditions so the helical anchors can be installed more efficiently and accurately.

Today, we pause our operations to honor everything they gave.

This Memorial Day, we remember the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom. Because of their courage, dedication, and service, we have the opportunity to build, work, and live freely every day.

From all of us at WORD Rock Drills, thank you to the fallen heroes who will never be forgotten.

This project in Helena, Montana marked the first directional drilling style application that we know of for a WORD Rock Drill. Crews were tasked with installing city water lines down a steep mountainside above a growing neighborhood, all while drilling below the frost line at a 20-degree angle beneath the slope.

The EX125 was outfitted with 21’ of travel, a clamp breaker, and the additional 14,000 ft-lb feed option to provide the extra push and pull force needed for the demanding application.

Working alongside an experienced crew, the drill and team at Wyodak proved just how capable and adaptable these machines can be when the terrain gets tough and precision matters.

For the first time that we know of, a WORD Rock Drill was used in a directional drilling style application, helping crews install city water lines down a mountainside above a growing neighborhood in Helena, Montana.

The setup featured an EX125 with 21’ of travel, equipped with a clamp breaker and the additional 14,000 ft-lb feed option to provide the extra push and pull force needed for deeper hole drilling at challenging angles.

The mission? Drill below frost level while working at a 20-degree angle beneath the slope for critical infrastructure installation. Paired with WyoDak’s advanced tooling, and Charlie and his outstanding crew, the WORD drill stepped into a whole new kind of application and proved just how versatile these machines can be when tough terrain and precision drilling collide.

A huge shoutout to one of our knowledgeable Account Executives, Reid, who was onsite helping support the install and working alongside the crew as they got started on their next adventure!
