A little spooky fun at WORD Rock Drills this morning! Today, our team traded in their usual work gear for some creative costumes, showed off their pumpkin decorating skills, and enjoyed some friendly competition!

We even kicked off the festivities with a delicious breakfast prepared by our very own “Chef,” who looked suspiciously like our Director of Operations! 👨‍🍳

From hilarious costumes to some seriously impressive pumpkins, our team brought plenty of creativity and laughs to the table to celebrate Halloween in our own way!

Scroll through the photos to see all the fun! We'd love to hear which costume or pumpkin is your favorite!

From all of us at WORD Rock Drills, have a safe and Happy Halloween weekend!

Out in Lost Hills, California, our Field Service Technician Clinton recently completed some extensive upgrade work on an SS57 WORD Rock Drill, right at the customer's location.

Taking advantage of the time between jobs, this customer scheduled us in to remove the front end and existing centralizer bracket for a new clamp and clamp breaker system, upgrade the valve bank, and replace the console cover. This project is a great example of the work our team can handle in the field and the adaptability of our Skid Steer units.

Let us help you minimize downtime and keep your equipment working hard.

You and your equipment put in maximum effort on the jobsite. So do we. Contact us to learn more about our on-site service capabilities.

This HX538, equipped with a Doofor Inc. DF538L, is hard at work on a celebrity-owned farm in Hawaii, drilling through volcanic lava rock with a 2½" bit for a fencing installation. With dust suppression helping keep conditions under control, this setup is making its way through some tough Hawaiian terrain.

Whether it's a high-profile property or a jobsite off the beaten path, our drills are built to tackle tough ground wherever the work takes them.

Today, our WORD Rock Drills family came together for a little food, fellowship, and a whole lot of pink in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

We shared a meal, handed out goodie bags, and most importantly, took a moment to remember why we gathered. Breast cancer has touched so many of our lives, whether through family, friends, neighbors, or someone we hold dear. Today was about coming together, showing support, celebrating the survivors, and remembering those we've lost.

Because behind every pink ribbon is someone’s story. 💗

If new drilling equipment is already on your radar, 2026 could be the right time to make your move. Section 179 may allow qualifying businesses to deduct the cost of eligible equipment, including certain rock drilling attachments, in the year it’s placed into service.

Make your investment even easier with 6 months for just $99/month. Get the drilling equipment your operation needs now while keeping your initial monthly payments low. And qualifying financed equipment may still be eligible for Section 179 tax benefits.

Add capability to your fleet. Put it to work, and potentially take advantage of valuable tax benefits along the way. Check out this post on our site for more details!

Rock doesn’t care what your plan is. That’s where the right drill setup from WORD earns its keep.

This WORD excavator drill is running a DF560 top hammer with a 1.5" bit on R32 rod, giving the operator the power and control to keep working through tough rock. Remote operation helps keep the operator positioned with a clear view of the drilling, while the mist system helps knock down dust at the hole.

Sometimes the job isn’t just hard to reach. Sometimes it’s sitting right in the middle of the water.

With the right carrier setup, our drills can go where the work takes you. Set up with a specialized amphibious pontoon undercarriage, this excavator gave the crew the access they needed to bring the drill out onto the water and get into position.

This is a great example that from shorelines and waterways to other hard-to-reach locations, the right combination of drill and carrier can open up a lot of possibilities. If there’s a way to get there, we’ll help you find it.

Sometimes the right drilling solution isn’t about bringing in a bigger excavator. It’s about making the most of the equipment already on site.

For this application, the Doofor Inc. DFR5 provided the capability for the customer to achieve larger hole sizes with less hydraulic flow than a larger top hammer setup may have required. While production speed may differ from a 560, it gives contractors another option when the hole needs to get bigger without changing the carrier.

That versatility matters in the field. Match the drill to the application, work within the equipment already available, and find a way to get the job done.
