For longtime WCCO sports reporter Mark Rosen, knee pain was starting to make everyday moments harder — but he wasn’t about to let it keep him on the sidelines.

Thanks to specialized care from Dr. Corey Wulf and the team at the Orthopedic Institute, a partnership between Ridgeview and TCO, Mark received a total knee replacement. Just a few months after surgery, he’s already finding his way back to his favorite activities.

“I'm looking forward to walking to restaurants and the farmers market with my wife again, traveling without pain, and playing an occasional round of golf — something I'd been avoiding for quite some time because of my knee,” said Mark.

Josh was never a fan of prosthetics growing up. The options he tried often felt basic and didn't give him what he needed to perform at his best. So, when the Paralympic shot putter came to TCO, he was hyper-focused on finding a partner who would listen to his ideas and help build something better than everything he'd seen before.

TCO Prosthetist and Orthotist Drew Gienau was all in. After months of diagnostics, testing and prototypes, the pair developed a custom solution built to deliver both performance and durability.

Now, Josh is preparing for the World Championships as he continues his pursuit of the 2028 Paralympic Games in Los Angeles.

From Minneapolis to Melbourne.

This year, TCO Physical Therapist Carly Mattson was invited to Australia as a delegate at the International Concussion Conference, a global gathering of the world's top concussion experts held every four years. By contributing to conversations around the latest research and best practices, Carly helped ensure TCO remains at the forefront of concussion care and recovery.

Carly had the opportunity to present TCO’s research to leaders from FIFA, the NFL and AFL, helping put TCO’s expertise on the global stage.

New knee, new adventures.

Just months after a left knee replacement with Dr. Scott Anseth, Lisa is hiking 3–4 miles a day at 9,000–12,000 feet in Keystone, Colorado—including the rugged terrain of Loveland Pass.

Her knee? Excellent.

Her lungs? Still getting used to the altitude.

“I’m so happy with my results and incredibly grateful to Dr. Anseth and his exceptional team who helped me get back to enjoying these adventures,” Lisa said.

At TCO, supporting our employees means showing up for them both inside and outside the clinic. For Clinical Assistant Ashley McIvor from the TCO Waconia clinic, that support comes from having a supervisor who works around her National Guard drill schedule and military leave commitments.

To thank her, Ashley nominated her supervisor, Stephanie Gjellstad, for the Patriot Award, which recognizes employers who go above and beyond to support National Guard Service Members.

Stephanie was recently presented with the award by the Employer Support of Guard and Reserve at the TCO Waconia clinic.

“After two years of reduced mobility and limping, I knew it was time,” Janene said.

Janene came to TCO for a knee replacement after searching for orthopedic surgeons who use the subvastus technique, a muscle-sparing approach. Surgery with Dr. Zachary Arntson went well, and with physical therapy from the TCO team, Janene’s recovery continues to progress.

Through TCO’s unique Sports Medicine partnership with the Minnesota Vikings, Alex gains hands-on experience at the highest level of professional sports helping athletes optimize performance and recovery. Alex is living out his passion while building the skills and expertise needed to grow as a sports physical therapist.
