Ayres' outgoing President Bruce Ommen put the frosting on top of a 35-year career at Ayres as a large gathering of appreciative employee-owners in Eau Claire, WI, celebrated the solid footing and growth Bruce helped the firm achieve over the past 7+ years. With cake and a some good-natured ribbing, Bruce handed over the reins to new President Jan Zander as the company continues to partner with our clients for the long haul.

Snapshots of some of the ways our teams have been stepping away from the desk this month, which happens to be mental health awareness month. For staff in our Eau Claire, WI, office, weekly walks became a great excuse to get outside and catch up, and in Fort Collins, CO, a group started the day with a morning yoga session. A few simple moments to reset, recharge, and connect can go a long way!

We’re bringing a little fun to the American Council of Engineering Companies of Florida Transportation Conference this week at the Hilton Orlando Lake Buena Vista. Instead of Where’s Waldo? - we’re asking: Where’s Jeffrey Siewert?

If you’re attending, keep an eye out for Jeffrey and be sure to stop him and say hello. Found him? Drop a comment to help others join the search and keep the connections going.

While you’re there, take a moment to talk with Jeffrey about your transportation challenges and goals. We’re always ready to listen, collaborate, and help move projects forward. We look forward to seeing you there.

Green Bay, WI, staff members (from second left) Keri Scheuerell, Paula Vandehey, Jessica Garvin, and Dean Steingraber presented four boxes of food and hygiene products collected by the office, as well as a check for $1,000, to Bob Hornacek (left), assistant executive director of Paul's Pantry Pantry, on Wednesday. The community food pantry has been serving families in Brown County for 42 years, with 260 families taking home a weekly average of 75 to 100 pounds of groceries each. The pantry runs completely on food and monetary donations from grocery stores, restaurants, suppliers, businesses, and the public, with purchases of staples such as milk, butter, eggs, beef, chicken, potatoes, and oatmeal supporting what they receive on a daily basis. No food is wasted, as inedible food is given to local livestock farmers. One of the core missions of the pantry, Bob said, is to maintain dignity and restore hope for families.

It was a beautiful evening for our fourth annual Ayres Division Invitational golf outing, and it also marked the start of the Owen Ayres Cup. This season-long challenge brings our teams together for some friendly competition out on the greens. Staff from our Eau Claire, WI, office, along with visiting colleagues, split into teams by division and were given 9 feet of string to use across the entire round, allowing them to move their ball throughout play while shortening what remained with each use. Our geospatial division took the win with a record-breaking 8 under – an impressive start to the Cup!
