Say hi to Sharon. 👋

Sharon is a unique recipient with a cochlear implant on one side and a bone conduction device on the other.

Since receiving her hearing devices, Sharon has been able to enjoy more of life's sounds, including ocean waves, dancing to her favorite music, and her children's voices when they come home from school.

"It's not one moment—it's a thousand moments that I never take for granted because I had lost them before," Sharon said.

We are so grateful to play a role in Sharon's hearing journey. 🧡

Last week, our IDEASforEARS winner, Roy, visited MED-EL's headquarters in Innsbruck, Austria.

Alongside the other winners from around the world, Roy had the opportunity to see how cochlear implants are made, explore MED-EL's labs, and visit the AUDIOVERSUM Science Center.

When asked about IDEASforEARS, he said, "IDEASforEARS is a contest that makes you warm up your brain to think of ideas and change the world."

We're so glad Roy had a wonderful trip to Innsbruck. ❤️

Meet Dr. Courtney Parker. 👋

Not only is Dr. Parker an audiologist in North Carolina, but she is also a bilateral MED-EL cochlear implant recipient!

Dr. Parker realized she needed more support than her hearing aids could provide, and her quality of life declined during the pandemic because she could no longer rely on lip-reading.

She said, "My family and friends have noticed a huge improvement with my CIs in daily conversation. It has changed my life for the better. The only regret I have is not doing it sooner!"

One of her most memorable hearing moments so far was immediately bursting into tears after finally being able to hear her friend of 10 years on the phone. ☎️

Diagnosed with hearing loss at her newborn hearing screening, Ella Tweedy received MED-EL cochlear implants at just seven months old through a clinical trial led by Dr. Nancy Young at Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children's Hospital of Chicago.

Today, Ella is thriving in the classroom alongside her hearing peers.

Her mother Ewa said, "She loves to hear. She loves having her implants on...It's been incredible to watch."
