🏗️ METAL BUILDING 101 🏗️

Ever hear us say “gable end” or “eave side” and wonder what in the world we’re talking about? 😄

Knowing a few common metal-building terms can make designing your building and communicating exactly what you want much easier!

🏠 Gable End — The end of the building where the roof comes together to form its peak.

➡️ Eave Side — The side of the building where the roof slopes down and meets the wall.

📏 Leg / Eave Height — Measured from the ground to the corner where the wall meets the roof.

🔩 Base Rail — The steel tubing that runs along the bottom perimeter of the building.

Knowing the lingo makes it much easier to discuss building dimensions, door and window placement, lean-tos, porches, and overall layout with your Building Specialist.
