A few pix from yesterday’s Manufacturers' Association event, Forged in Illinois: Honoring the Women Who Helped Shape Manufacturing. The CEO of both Pioneer Service Inc. and M&M Quality Grinding, Aneesa Muthana, who hosted the event and invited our CEO Tracy Hauppa-Kenyeri, gave a most compelling presentation about her businesses and how her family shaped her as a leader.

The large group of women in attendance then toured the expansive Swiss machining operation at Pioneer and the precision centerless grinding operation at M&M next door.

We also listened to a panel discussion, “Beyond the Title: Leading with Resilience” lead by the IMA's Sarah Hartwick, featuring IMA CEO Mark Denzler, Miles Free, Paulina San Millan of Illinois EDC and Heather Penczak of Northern Illinois University.

Tracy appreciated the fun coffee service counter operated by Beyt Bun and the delicious and beautiful treats spread by Petit Three Doughnuts & Coffee. It was great meeting many dynamic women and saying hi to Althea Mottl of Atlas Tool Works, Inc.

In time for Manufacturing Month, Kenyeri Engineering & Manufacturing, LLC welcomed girls interested in STEM careers from St. Laurence High School, and Anne McGillycuddy, school administrator in their Career Pathways program.

We discussed the connections between mechanical engineering design and machining parts, between electrical engineering and building control panels or integrating Hanwha Robotics cobots, and between chemical engineering and the design and build of turnkey systems. It was a fun visit and the girls asked great questions.

Side note, CEO Tracy Hauppa-Kenyeri an alum of Queen of Peace High School, which was the all-girls school in Burbank, IL next to St. Laurence High School where her brother went. QOP closed a few years ago, and STL absorbed their students, becoming co-ed. Tracy credit's her Queen of Peace education with inspiring empowerment and confidence in her, and it gave her great preparation to pursue a chemical engineering degree at the University of Illinois Chicago back in the day. It's great to see St. Laurence going strong, vibrant with promise to continue educating young men and women and preparing them well for job/career paths and to make positive contributions to our world.

THE CHALLENGE
At high spindle speeds, centrifugal force pulls a conventional chuck's jaws outward, bleeding away clamping force exactly when control matters most. Engineers compensate by over-clamping at standstill — risking deformation of thin-walled, delicate components, and often adding a grinding step afterward to correct the distortion.

THE CGF SOLUTION
The CGF chuck is engineered to hold its clamping force through the RPM range, so a part only needs to be gripped as hard as it takes to hold it — not as hard as it takes to survive full speed. Early Saturday at IMTS 2026, company owners Tracy Hauppa-Kenyeri, Ronald L. Kenyeri and family were honored to be interviewed on the Main Stage. Chuck Schroeder had done an article on them to promote STEM and trades careers, since they’ve taken their kids to the Saturday of IMTS every time it was in town since 2008, when their now 23-yr-old Ronnie was 5, to show them what was possible. Kathy Keyes was then kind enough to invite us for this interview opportunity to talk about how attending the show influenced Ronald J. Kenyeri to pursue mechanical engineering and Eric to pursue bioinformatics and molecular & cellular neurobiology….and what attending the show means to our manufacturing business that offers automation and workholding, which was so much fun. We extend a very BIG thank you to Chuck, to Kathy, to the IMTS - International Manufacturing Technology Show and to our hands down favorite convention location, Chicago's McCormick Place.

We were honored Wednesday to attend the Nexus49 First Anniversary Reception. This meaningful organization fosters and promotes the invaluable Chicago-Canada corridor for trade.

This event was particularly meaningful to us because we’ve sold many of our custom aerospace chucks to GEC Aviation in Bromont, Quebec over the course of years. We have many other customers and also suppliers in Canada as well, so we directly see the importance of maintaining positive trade relations with our neighbor to the north.

We appreciated hearing speeches by and meeting Claire Kennedy, Consul General of Canada in Chicago and John Atkinson, Chairman of the Illinois EDC, as well as Mélanie Joly, Minister of Industry and Minister responsible for ED - Quebec. Thank you to Tara Chantal Silver, Founder & Executive Director of Chicago–Canada Trade & Business Alliance (Nexus49) for putting this important event together at the beautiful offices of DLA Piper with an incredible view of the Chicago River lined by glistening skyscrapers.

It was great to reconnect with Richard Paullin of the ITAGC - International Trade Association of Greater Chicago, and to meet many other US and Canadian players in the room such as Michael Bloom, PhD of Loyola University Chicago, Vusi Moyo of APCO Worldwide, Monika Razdan of Dipalo Ventures, and many others.
