Last week, we had the opportunity to celebrate one of the people who helped make HRTLND what it is today.

After many years of hard work, leadership, relationships, laughs and plenty of stories along the way, Kim Pullen has officially retired.

Kim was more than a founding partner. He helped build a business, but more importantly, he helped build a team and a culture. He invested in people, developed the next generation and played a big part in creating opportunities that have supported a lot of families over the years.

As we said at his retirement celebration: A Founder. A Leader. A Friend.

Kim, thank you for everything you poured into HRTLND and the people who have been part of the journey. We’re grateful for the memories, the impact and the friendship and we wish you nothing but the best in retirement.

September is National Su***de Prevention Month.

This is an important conversation everywhere, but especially in construction. We spend a lot of time talking about physical safety in our industry. Mental health and looking out for one another need to be part of that same conversation.

At HRTLND, taking care of our people means taking care of the whole person. Sometimes that starts with something as simple as checking in, asking a second question and taking the time to really listen.

Construction Su***de Prevention Week is September 14–18, including the National Stand-Down on Monday, September 14 at 1:50 PM Central; a coordinated, one-minute moment of silence across the construction industry. We encourage everyone in our industry to be aware of it and take a moment to think about the people working beside us every day.

Throughout September, we’ll be sharing more information, resources and reminders around su***de prevention and mental health. Look for more posts from us as we work to keep this important conversation going.

A great day connecting with people, enjoying a little golf, and most importantly supporting the American Cancer Society and the fight against cancer.
