Shellback Metal Arts fabricated leaf vacuum mounting brackets for Nature’s Edge Landscaping. Isolated & modular, this design was created to reduce noise/vibration created by the vacuum. A creative bolt-on application both versatile and functional, like a Swiss Army knife. When I walk through a project with a friend/customer, I like to explore all of our options together. Once our values are in place I then create what I like to call ‘functional art’. What do you think of my design?

10/21/66 -3/9/25 The company, ‘Shellback Metal Arts’ was created to pay homage to my father, Captian Timothy Ackerman. Tim’s extensive military service and later entrepreneurship was the catalyst to my creations. By definition, a Trusty Shellback is: “A sailor who has crossed the equator and been initiated into the ancient maritime tradition of the "Solemn Mysteries of the Ancient Order of the Deep”. Although the company was formed while he was a living legend, our Dad is now our angel in the sky. I regret to inform you, SMA will be taking a break from operations while our family figures out the next steps. We are devastated. I would appreciate it if you would take a minute to write a memory you have of my father. He touched the lives of so many as he is always a becon of light in the room.

A sweet lady commissioned this rustic fire pit. I call it “Saruman staff FP”. She also wanted a rustic patina. After I got a beautiful rust coat going I sealed it in. I love it when people give me an idea and free creative range. I can’t wait to see this build in action! I’ve got so many projects I haven’t had a chance to list or post yet. I can’t guarantee you’ll get to see everything. I can guarantee you’ll see my all time favorite art pieces!
