We all know people who have “got a guy” for everything and we respect that. The problem is when that guy is the wrong guy for the job. This customer complained that she is putting tires on her car once a year and upon further investigation, we discovered that the X5 has never had a proper alignment because the tire shop does BMW alignments WRONG! We perform weighted, all-wheel alignments the way BMW recommends . Even if we don’t do your tires, we can still do your alignment. Give us a call to schedule today.

Everyone is always asking, "What is due at ###,### mileage?" We made this to help those wondering "what's next?" Now BMW recommended either 15k or 10k between oil changes but we recommend half of that for long life and less VANOS and Valvetronic issues.

BMW Owners: Did You Know Your Brake Fluid Service May Not Be Complete?

BMW’s DSCi (Dynamic Stability Control Integrated) is a brake-by-wire electro-hydraulic system that combines the brake booster, master cylinder, and traction control into a single, compact unit. It is found in modern BMW models equipped with an integrated braking system, including the G05 X5, G06 X6, G07 X7, G60 5 Series, G70 7 Series, G80/G82 M3/M4, and G87 M2

Most people know brake fluid should be replaced every 2 years, but many BMW models equipped with DSCi (Dynamic Stability Control integrated) braking systems require an additional service procedure that many shops overlook.

After the brake fluid is replaced, the BMW ISTA diagnostic software must be used to activate and cycle the valves and pump inside the DSC hydraulic unit. This process helps remove old fluid and any trapped air that can remain inside the DSC module.

Why does this matter?

✅ Ensures old brake fluid is removed from the entire braking system
✅ Helps maintain proper brake pedal feel and performance
✅ Protects expensive DSC hydraulic components from moisture-contaminated fluid
✅ Completes the brake fluid service according to BMW procedures

A traditional "bleed at the four wheels" may not fully exchange the fluid inside the DSC hydraulic unit. On many BMW models, the ISTA service function is a critical part of the brake fluid replacement process.

At Euroenvy Autowerks, we perform brake fluid services using BMW factory diagnostic software and procedures to ensure the job is done correctly—not just quickly.

Your BMW's braking system is one of the most important safety systems on the vehicle. Proper maintenance helps ensure it performs exactly as BMW intended.

🚨 WHEN A CLUTCH JOB TURNS INTO A NO-START DIAGNOSIS 🚨

This 2016 BMW F80 M3 with a 6-speed manual transmission arrived at Euroenvy on a tow truck with a no-start condition.

The customer had been told the front crank hub may have spun — a serious and expensive problem on the BMW S55 engine.

Fortunately, that wasn't the issue.

When the vehicle arrived, the DME contained the following faults:

⚠️ 160021 Crankshaft Sensor: General Loss of Synchronization
⚠️ 160020 Crankshaft Sensor: Signal Implausible

Both faults pointed toward a crankshaft position signal problem, which naturally raised concerns about a possible spun crank hub.

After diagnosis, we discovered the actual cause was related to a recent clutch and flywheel replacement performed elsewhere.

The flywheel bolts had been tightened so severely that the crankshaft reluctor wheel was crushed and deformed. The bolts required more than DOUBLE the specified release torque to remove. Based on the evidence, it appears an impact gun may have been used during installation.

The reluctor wheel contains the magnetic targets used by the crankshaft position sensor to determine crankshaft position and engine synchronization. Once distorted, the sensor receives incorrect information, causing synchronization faults and preventing the engine from starting.

The result:

❌ No-start condition
❌ DME synchronization faults
❌ Incorrect crankshaft position signals
❌ Crushed and deformed reluctor wheel
❌ Transmission removal required
❌ Flywheel removal required
❌ Additional labor and parts that should never have been necessary

And the surprises didn't stop there.

During disassembly we also found:

❌ Only ONE starter bolt installed
❌ FOUR bellhousing bolts completely missing

These fasteners are critical for proper alignment and support of the transmission and starter assembly. Missing hardware can lead to vibration, misalignment, premature wear, starter engagement issues, and additional failures.

Modern BMWs are engineered with extremely tight tolerances. Every fastener has a specific torque specification, tightening sequence, and installation procedure for a reason. Taking shortcuts or using the wrong tools can turn a routine clutch replacement into a major repair.

At Euroenvy, we don't guess and we don't shortcut procedures. We follow BMW repair instructions, use the proper specialty tools, and verify every fastener is installed and torqued correctly.

This customer was worried about a spun crank hub.

The real problem was a crushed reluctor wheel and workmanship issues from a previous repair.

⚠️ THAT ORANGE WASHER FLUID MAY BE CAUSING YOUR BMW’S WARNING LIGHT.

Not all washer fluid is safe for modern European vehicles.

Many “water-repelling” or silicone-based washer fluids can actually create problems in BMW, MINI, Alpina, and Rolls-Royce washer systems — especially vehicles equipped with capacitive level sensors.

BMW even released a Service Information Bulletin explaining that silicone-based washer fluids can cause false low washer fluid warnings, sensor issues, and contamination inside the washer system.

The issue?
Many orange or specialty washer fluids contain silicone additives designed to make water bead off the windshield. While that sounds great in theory, those additives can:
❌ Coat the washer fluid level sensor
❌ Trigger constant “Low Washer Fluid” warnings
❌ Leave residue inside the reservoir
❌ Cause poor washer system performance
❌ Create wiper chatter and smearing

BMW specifically recommends flushing contaminated systems and using BMW-approved washer fluid instead.

Sometimes the cheapest or most aggressively marketed products create the most expensive problems.

At Euroenvy Autowerks, we pay attention to the details — because modern BMW systems are more sensitive and advanced than most people realize.

⚠️ BRAKE WARNING LIGHT ON?
Don’t ignore it. Your vehicle is trying to tell you something.

These brake pads and rotors came in completely destroyed from being driven far beyond their service life. The result:
• Severely damaged brake pads
• Deeply scored rotors
• Reduced stopping power
• Increased repair costs
• Unsafe driving conditions

Your brakes are the MOST important safety system on your vehicle. Horsepower, luxury features, and performance mean absolutely nothing if the vehicle cannot stop safely.

We also see the effects of cheap brake parts every day. Low-quality pads and rotors can lead to:
❌ Excessive noise
❌ Premature wear
❌ Poor braking performance
❌ Vibration and pulsation
❌ Unsafe stopping distances

Modern BMW, MINI, Alpina, and Rolls-Royce braking systems are engineered with extremely precise materials and tolerances. Using quality components and servicing them at the proper intervals matters.

If your vehicle is:
• Making noise when braking
• Vibrating while stopping
• Displaying a brake warning light
• Taking longer to stop
• Pulling to one side

…don’t wait until minor maintenance becomes major damage.

At Euroenvy Autowerks, we use quality components, proper procedures, and experienced technicians because your safety depends on it.

Do you know what the arrow on this wheel is indicating?
Ever notice how some BMW wheels look backwards on one side?

That’s because many BMW models use TRUE directional wheels. 🔥

On vehicles like the BMW X3 (F25), BMW engineered left and right side wheels differently for:

✅ Aerodynamics
✅ Brake cooling
✅ Water evacuation in wet weather
✅ Reduced turbulence
✅ Proper spoke direction on BOTH sides of the vehicle

That means the wheels actually have different LEFT and RIGHT part numbers. 👀

BMW used directional wheel designs on several models including:
• X3
• X5
• X6
• i8
• i3
• Certain M cars and M Performance packages

One of the most common things we hear:
“BLAH BLAH TIRE JOINT just installed my tires.”
Sometimes you get lucky and on this one had - 0 out of 4 correct. 😅

BMW engineering can get incredibly detailed — even the direction of the wheel spokes matters.

That’s why proper BMW knowledge matters when servicing and repairing these vehicles.
