We recently hosted a lunch and learn on energetics and explosive duty pump applications, where we discussed why standard design rules do not always apply and why mitigating risk is critical.

In these environments, we often recommend the Wilfley A9 Chemical Pump with specific engineered modifications as a strong option for severe duty conditions, supported by thoughtful system design. Wilfley specializes in highly modified and custom pump designs for high risk services.

That is where the right pump, application experience, and maintenance partner make all the difference.

As a distributor of Wilfley pumps, we work closely with teams to apply the right solutions for these critical environments, always keeping safety and reliability a top priority.

Continuing our People Behind The Process series, meet Kristin Lyle George, the creative mind behind our marketing here at HAGLER Process. 👏

Kristin graduated from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga in 2023 with a degree in Marketing and has been with HAGLER Process for 3 years. She first joined the team as an Intern before stepping into her current role as Marketing Director after graduation.

What Kristin enjoys most about working at HAGLER Process is being surrounded by driven, intelligent people who challenge her to learn something new every day. She loves the opportunity that comes with marketing in such a niche industry and describes the culture at HAGLER as one built on perseverance, a growth mindset, and, of course, a good sense of humor! Two of Kristin’s favorite projects have been building the company website and planning the grand opening event for the Kingsport shop because they gave her the opportunity to combine creativity, strategy, and collaboration!

Outside of work, you can usually find her enjoying some of her favorite hobbies, like skiing in the mountains, going to a music festival, or training for a half marathon. Kristin also loves hitting the gym and spending time with her family’s many cats and dogs. 🏔️🐾

Kristin does an incredible job bringing the HAGLER Process brand to life, and we’re grateful to have her on our team!

Bringing another pump back to spec! 🔧

This 2"x1"-10" Summit Clark 3 Group 2 DI/CD4 was trimmed from a 10" impeller down to 8.31", followed by an EagleBurgmann seal installation and a precise setting of impeller clearance. To finish the job, we completed a 100 PSI air test for 20 minutes to ensure reliability and performance before it heads back into service.

At HAGLER Process, we ensure attention to detail matters at every step.

The finance crew traded spreadsheets for karaoke microphones last week at Sing It or Wing It! 🎤 Between the wings, drinks, and a few questionable song choices, it was a great night to relax, laugh, and enjoy time together outside the office.

Safe to say the karaoke performances won’t be making it into the next company meeting...😆

Get to know the Ruhrpumpen ZW Horizontal Split Case Pump. One application we previously utilized this pump style for was a river water system, where a custom HAGLER-designed skid package was engineered to replace an existing pump system and support dependable operation in the field.

Proud to partner with Ruhrpumpen to deliver pump solutions built for demanding industrial and water applications.

Looking to upgrade or replace an existing pump system? Our team is here to help!

05/06/2026

Our team recently completed a full teardown and rebuild of a Summit SPPC progressive cavity pump used in high-flow water metering for a sheet stock operation.

The unit came in with reported “oil” leakage at the inboard lip seal. After inspection, we found the root cause wasn’t oil at all, it was over greasing that caused the bearings to overheat. Once the grease exceeded its drop point, it caused it to leak past the lip seal.

Rotor and stator were still in good shape overall, but bearings and seals were replaced, and the unit was fully cleaned and rebuilt.

This is a good reminder that proper grease quantity is critical. Lubrication issues are often symptoms of larger thermal problems, not just sealing failures. If you’re seeing leakage or abnormal grease behavior, it’s worth taking a deeper look before it turns into a bigger failure.
