Pioneer recently completed a siphon replacement project on Big Porcupine Creek. The overall goal of this project was to eliminate water loss at the siphon, reduce or eliminate impacts to Big Porcupine Creek at the siphon location, and provide a long-term reliable siphon solution for the Hammond Irrigation District (HID).

Funds from ARPA & DNRC grants were used to replace and relocate the deteriorated siphon inlet structure, replace the deteriorated siphon outlet structure, and replace the leaking siphon pipe under Big Porcupine Creek with 48-inch HDPE pipe. Completion of this project ensures that irrigation water sourced from the Yellowstone River is effectively and efficiently delivered, via the HID canal, to 3,782 irrigated acres of agricultural land within the Yellowstone River valley near Forsyth, Montana.

Pioneer is proud to support Arikson Boyd, who is the son of Joshua Boyd, one of our environmental technicians! Arikson hopes to attend the National Youth Leadership Forum: Pathways to STEM program in Denver this summer. Congratulations, Arikson—we're excited for you!

Arikson Boyd, a third grader in Butte, has received accolades for his facility with math and a positive attitude. He hopes to attend a STEM program this summer in Denver.

Pioneer is thrilled to announce that we were recently awarded the 2026 ACEC of Idaho Engineering Excellence Award (EEA) for our work on the Lower East Fork Ninemile Creek and Dayrock Complex Remedial Action Project.

The project was a large undertaking and tackled everything from incredibly steep terrain to saturated tailings. Our Project Team overcame these challenges and successfully supported the removal of over 381,000 cubic yards of mine waste, the reconstruction of nearly 1.7 miles of stream channels, and the revegetation of 29 acres of habitat.

Our Team attended the EEA Luncheon and was able to present on the project. We'd like to extend a huge congratulations to the Project Team and everyone associated with this project. Well done!

Pioneer is proud to support the Greenway Service District and other representatives on the Silver Bow Creek Greenway project. Up to date, this incredible undertaking has included designing and constructing several miles of ADA-compliant paved trails and significantly improving wetland habitat and public access along the Creek. Pioneer is committed to seeing this project through, and we look forward to the lasting benefits it will have on our local wildlife and community.
