Black Locust is such an amazing species. Its the hardest wood found in the Appalachian mountains. 40% harder than Hickory. It is incredibly decay-resistant, so it's perfect for outdoor applications. But, possibly most important of all, it's beautiful. I can think of so many projects that Locust would be a great fit for.
