Let’s introduce James, our second summer intern.

James recently graduated from Washington State University with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. He’s always had a passion for problem solving and values the collaborative nature of engineering—working as part of a team to tackle challenges and achieve shared goals.

This summer, James is excited to explore new opportunities at Art Anderson, connect with experienced professionals, and gain insight into how real-world engineering problems are approached and solved.

We’re glad to have James on board and look forward to the contributions he’ll make as he continues to grow in his engineering career.

It’s time to introduce our Summer Interns! First up is Tyler.

Tyler is an incoming senior at SUNY Maritime College, where he is pursuing a Bachelor of Engineering in Naval Architecture with a minor in Nuclear Engineering. His passion for the marine industry began early—growing up as a competitive sailor, he developed a strong interest in vessel design and performance.

This summer, Tyler joins our Marine Engineering team, where he’s excited to learn from experienced engineers, contribute to real-world design work, and take part in projects that advance marine innovation.

Help us welcome Art Mitchell to our team! He is joining us as a Construction Manager with 20 years of experience and is already set to start working on the NOAA Manchester Campus Addition project, set to start construction this summer.

Art Anderson is proud to have contributed to one of the largest tidal wetland restoration efforts on the West Coast—bringing vital ecosystems back to life. Back in 2008, we led design development and construction documentation for key water control systems. This 240-acre site was reimagined to support wildlife, with newly created nesting islands, shallow foraging areas, and improved water circulation.

This project includes the planning, design, and construction of a new Catechesis of the Good Shepherd School building in Bremerton, WA. The facility is designed to support educational programming while meeting current codes, accessibility standards, and operational needs.

Our professional services included full architectural, mechanical, civil, structural, and electrical engineering, along with a detailed cost estimate to support budgeting and decision-making. The project scope also includes permitting support and coordination with relevant authorities having jurisdiction to facilitate approvals and a smooth transition into construction.
