Where did the come from? For thousands of years, nobody knew.

Archaeologists in Spain have just uncovered six previously unknown Age mines containing , lead and silver. Researchers believe the discovery may help explain where the metal used in Scandinavian Bronze Age artifacts originated, revealing trade connections that stretched across Europe more than 3,000 years ago.

Long before modern transportation networks existed, metal was already connecting distant communities and shaping civilizations.

To maintain our standard of living, the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) estimates each person in the United States consumes roughly 12 pounds of each year.

That is more than 150,000,000 in total. At aone ingot PER SECOND, that would take almost five years to produce!

Today isn’t just about a long weekend and barbecues. It’s about remembering the men and women who never made it home. Their sacrifice shaped the freedoms we live with every day, often without the recognition they deserve.

Today, we remember them with gratitude, respect and humility.

Seems like the perfect day to pay homage to the spent beer mold. Happy Friday! Hope you enjoy the holiday weekend.

A can behave completely differently with less than 1% change in chemistry.

A small adjustment in tin, lead or zinc can affect hardness, machinability, wear resistance and even how the metal flows through a mold. In foundries, those tiny percentages aren’t “close enough” they’re the difference between an alloy performing exactly as intended… or not. At Federal Metal, those tiny percentages matter because precision isn’t a target. It’s expected.
