If you would’ve told me years ago that at some point in my career I’d be choosing between big corporate box-store brands and custom hand-tuned equipment — without even having to haggle over price — I probably wouldn’t have believed you.

But here we are.

It’s been a long road to get to this point, and I’m proud to say we finally carry lines that actually represent who we are and what we believe in. Quality over gimmicks. Real equipment built by people who care, sold by people who stand behind it.

Not the cheapest stuff on the market. Just the stuff we’d actually use ourselves.

That matters to me.

7:07 PM, just got home. Mandi and I were out on the front porch looking at the bird’s nest when I happened to glance over at the thermometer. Didn’t realize it was that hot today.

And honestly, this is just a quick shoutout to my crew.

Yeah, I knew everyone was grinding today. And sure, the humidity wasn’t terrible. But still… not one complaint out of anybody. Not one. Meanwhile I’m the guy turning on the giant shop fan saying, “Alright boys, let’s get this thing rolling for the season.” 😂

Matt and Bill — thanks for holding down the front counter all day.

Will and Jessie — you guys absolutely killed it today, somehow even better than normal. Maybe I need to keep the heat turned up in that shop. LOL. The place just kept rolling nonstop.

And Connor — thanks for always having a smile on your face and somehow reassuring everybody that the world’s not ending, even when the world itself feels like total chaos. That attitude is gonna take you far in life, kid.

And Eric… if anybody thinks a good pickup and delivery driver is easy to find, think again. When your driver radios in twice saying he’s got extra room on the truck because he got two more customer mowers running without even loading them up, that’s a win in my book. Left customers with equipment that started, ran, and got them back in business without unnecessary charges.

That’s what we’re about.

Yeah, we like what we do. But more than anything, we’re community based. If we can save somebody money and keep their equipment going without dragging it back to the shop, we’re gonna do it every time we can.

Anyway, shoutout to my boys. You guys made it happen once again today. Appreciate all of you. 💪

Another round of mowers headed for the lift tables. 👀

Little bit of everything in this lineup — Honda, Husqvarna, Craftsman, Cub Cadet… nice mix of machines all getting ready to go back out and tackle another season.

Okay, okay… I lied.

When I told you all we were done fixing and servicing trailers, I meant it. We’re done.

But when Coach John calls asking if we can do the annual service on the crew trailer… that’s a hard one to say no to.

Because unless you’ve stood in New York on a cold spring morning, hanging over a bridge watching your hometown row their hearts out against the rest of the Northeast, you probably wouldn’t understand the feeling.

So somehow, here we were at 8 o’clock at night, lights on, getting the Stonington Crew trailer ready to roll again.

And hey, while I’m mad at you for dragging us back into trailer work, Coach… I’ll admit it, it’s worth it.

Huge shoutout to Redstone too. They came through again and absolutely knocked the tires out of the park for us. Proof that sometimes the river between two towns really isn’t as wide as people think it is.

Another day in the books.

Customers like Mike make our day.

After a long day of hearing how a week to fix a mower took too long, or how a part that’s been backordered for six weeks is somehow our fault, messages like this remind us why we do what we do.

We’re over here doing our best every single day to make it happen. And trust me, it takes a team. I’ve got some of the best techs, the best parts guys, and the best sales staff… LOL, that’s me.

At the end of the day, we’re all just human. We work hard, we care, and when something goes wrong, come talk to me. Seriously. I’m pretty sure we can make it right.

Here you go guys — a photo a lot of people don’t even know what they’re looking at.

That’s the top of a mower deck packed full of grass. Once that grass sits and starts to decay, it turns into wet compost that traps moisture around your spindles, belts, and bearings. Bearings and belts need airflow to stay cool, and wet grass sitting on metal leads to rust, seized bearings, bad belts, and even rotted-out decks.

This is one of the many things people overlook, and one of the things we clean out during service here at Stonington Power.

Best thing you can do at home? Blow the deck out after every mow. A leaf blower works great. Worst case, pull it out by hand. Just make sure the engine is OFF first.

A few minutes of cleaning can save you a whole lot of money down the road — and if everything doesn’t already cost enough these days, right?
