One of Lydia's passions is fishing 🎣 and spending time at the family camper in Ottertail county. At the age of 11, she is already reeling in crappies like a seasoned professional. Nice work Lydia!

We still have a few spots remaining for our youth fishing event next weekend let’s get your kid’s hooked on fishing too! Register 👇🏻

Dandelions offer a multitude of uses, given that almost every part is edible and packed with nutrients. The yellow petals can be utilized for syrups, jellies, or fritters; the young spring leaves for fresh salads or sautés; and the deep taproots for homemade herbal tea. This plant also provides a creative outlet for crafting and making dandelion crowns, presenting a fun and engaging activity for children 👑

🐂We had a great morning for our Family Farm Tour event with a group of 30 adults/youth in attendance. Pleasurewoods Farm, Farm Bureau, and Kanabec County 4H youth did an excellent job of providing our group with a behind-the-scenes look at raising livestock. We were able to view cattle, sheep, chickens, pigs, and goats. Youth participated in an interactive game where they learned about various animal by-products.

🚜Lastly, our wagon ride led us back to a barn complete with a rope swing and slide in the loft. Each youth received a beef stick made from livestock raised on this farm as a parting gift.

🐖We plan to continue offering fun and educational agricultural-based tours…will we see your family at one?

Late Night 🏹 Flinging Arrows

We had a great night on the lake for our first Bowfishing trip! Seen a lot of fish, had lots of practice shooting, and even ate a few mayflies. Biggest fish was a 32lb. carp!

Yesterday, we had a great time at Conservation Day, which catered to 5th grade students in Isanti County. Approximately 500 youth participated in various educational stations throughout the morning. Little Wilderness provided information on wildlife identification, including an interactive game of identifying s**t (or candy made to resemble it). We hope these 5th graders left with a wealth of new knowledge.

Congratulations to 7 year old Evan 🦃 That’s a big ol Tom!!!

Evan’s mom shared…”Evan’s turkey was extra special as he harvested it on farmland near our house. That marks three generations of our family that have all gotten turkeys on the same land ❤️.”
