Little Wilderness

Little Wilderness is hosting our FIRST-EVER Youth Coyote Hunt, and thanks to the incredible support of the Minnesota Deer Hunters Association (MDHA), your young hunter can participate for FREE! 🦌❤️

Now you might be wondering, “Why is an organization dedicated to deer hunting sponsoring a coyote hunt?” That’s because healthy wildlife populations require understanding the entire ecosystem!

Coyotes are Minnesota’s most abundant large predator, and understanding predator-prey relationships is an important part of conservation. Responsible predator management can be one tool in maintaining healthy deer populations, and MDHA recognizes the importance of educating the next generation about these relationships.

Organizations like the Minnesota Deer Hunters Association help invest in the future of hunting, conservation, and our outdoor heritage. Show them some love by following Minnesota Deer Hunters Association on Facebook and visiting their website to learn more about their conservation efforts, youth programs, and how you can get involved!

HERE’S THE BEST PART: Registration is $150 upfront to reserve a spot, but MDHA will refund the full amount after your youth attends the event. That means the hunt is FREE for participating youth!

A HUGE thank-you to MDHA for investing in young hunters and helping Little Wilderness make these hands-on outdoor experiences possible! Go register now on our website

🦌🍂Minnesota Youth Deer Season🍂🦌

Congratulations to Kaléa at only 12 years old she harvested this beautiful buck over youth season. She shared, “My dad said I beat his record, it scored 143 inches.”

📸 Share your youth hunter’s photos in the comments below! Whether they harvested their first deer, spent quality time in the stand, or simply made unforgettable memories in the woods, we want to celebrate all of them🧡

Let’s celebrate the next generation of hunters, the traditions being passed down, and the memories being made. It’s about so much more than the harvest!

There’s something pretty special about a night where kids get to stay up way past their bedtime. But even more exciting? Getting up close and personal with some of the river’s most incredible monsters!

This past weekend, our Little Wilderness crew headed to the St. Croix River for one of our favorite annual adventures, and what a trip it was! From massive sturgeon to hard-fighting flathead catfish and plenty of sheepshead, these young anglers experienced the thrill of chasing fish they’ll be talking about for years.

One of the biggest highlights of the trip was catching not just 1, but 2 tagged sturgeon, giving our participants a unique opportunity to be part of ongoing conservation and research efforts while creating memories on the water!

A huge THANK YOU goes out to our incredible guides, Rick with Cats on the Croix Fishing and Louis with Sportfishing MN. The experience you provide these young outdoor enthusiasts is truly priceless. The patience, knowledge, and passion you share create memories that inspire kids to keep exploring, keep learning, and keep chasing adventure. We are so, so appreciative of everything you do to make this trip such a success year after year!

If you're interested in getting your child signed up for opportunities like this, check out our upcoming events at littlewilderness.co

AND if you are a licensed guide who would like to partner with us to provide more hands-on outdoor experiences for youth, we'd love to hear from you! Send us a message, and one of our directors will get back to you.
