🐦‍⬛Summer Camp day 3 was dedicated to the study of birds. Barry, a guest speaker from Isanti County Parks, led an educational session on bird identification, habitat, fun facts, sounds, owl pellet dissection, and more. The rain did not hinder the group's outdoor exploration, as they observed birds, played in puddles, and made dirt cup snacks.
📗A portion of a generous donation made by the Andy Englund Foundation provided each camper with a bird identification book to continue their learning at home.

Summer Camp Day 2 featured guest speakers from the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources Wildlife and Enforcement divisions. The kids were enthusiastic to learn about wildlife species, habitats, resources, and really enjoyed viewing the displays. We also explored the park together, had a moose-themed snack, and colored animals on wood cookies.

Our week long Summer camp kicked off on Monday starting with a 🐝 bee themed day. Our guest speaker Jamie from the Local Buzz educated camp attendees on types of bees, jobs within the hive, honey tasting, and the highlight was holding live bees! We also enjoyed a hike in the park, creating bee themed snacks and crafts.

Free Park Day is this Saturday June 13, 2026🥾

Utilize this opportunity to explore a Minnesota state park or recreation area. On Saturday, all Minnesota state parks and recreation areas will offer free admission, all day, with no vehicle entry permits necessary. We often have youth with different experience levels at our events, and this past weekend's "fishing" event was a case in point, as one of the attendees had never been in a boat! We will let you guess which one 😉

Our youth fishing event on Saturday was a resounding success, with approximately 40 fish caught and numerous memories created for the young anglers. We are already eagerly anticipating our next event together!

Take a Kid Fishing 🎣 June 5-7th, 2026

Minnesotans 16 or older who take a child 15 or younger fishing do not need a license this weekend. We hope you will plan a special fishing day over this weekend, and catch some quality time with friends and family on the water!
