⚽ As the 2026 FIFA World Cup kicks off, another competition is quietly taking place behind the scenes—the race toward circular textiles.
Nike sponsors 12 national teams in this year’s tournament, including Brazil, France, England, the Netherlands, Croatia, the United States, Canada, Australia, South Korea, Norway, Türkiye, and Uruguay.
When stars like Kylian Mbappé, Vinícius Júnior, Jude Bellingham, and Son Heung-min take the field, they represent not only elite athletic performance but also the industry's growing commitment to circularity—an area where SSFC has been actively advancing solutions through T2T recycling and next-generation sustainable materials.
For more than 15 years, recycled PET bottle yarn has been the foundation of sustainable sportswear. Taiwan played a key role in building that supply chain, transforming discarded bottles into high-performance apparel.
But the industry is evolving.
As the EU promotes Bottle-to-Bottle recycling and brands compete for food-grade recycled PET resources, the focus is gradually shifting toward a more circular solution: Textile-to-Textile (T2T) recycling.
The difference is simple:
♻️ Bottle-to-Fiber: bottles become clothing.
♻️ Textile-to-Textile: clothing becomes clothing again.
By chemically recycling post-consumer garments, textile waste, and manufacturing scraps back into high-quality polyester, T2T creates a pathway toward a true closed-loop apparel system.
Yet one challenge has remained.
Most sportswear contains 5–15% spandex, making garment recycling significantly more difficult.
That is why Neolast™ is attracting growing attention.

2026世足本週登場，Nike贊助的12支國家隊裡，藏著台灣新纖的下一張王牌。
當大家還在討論寶特瓶回收紗時，台灣紡織業的戰場其實已經往前推進了一大步。
這次站上世界舞台的，是新光合纖（新纖）布局多年的 T2T（Textile-to-Textile，衣到衣循環）技術。
本屆世界盃，Nike贊助包括巴西、法國、英格蘭、荷蘭、克羅埃西亞、美國、加拿大、澳洲、韓國、挪威、土耳其及烏拉圭等12支國家隊。當姆巴佩、維尼修斯、貝林漢、孫興慜等球星在場上奔馳時，他們身上的永續球衣供應鏈背後，也有來自台灣新纖的技術參與。
但有趣的是，這場革命的起點，其實來自寶特瓶紗。
過去15年，全球運動品牌最熟悉的永續材料就是寶特瓶紗。透過回收寶特瓶、清洗、造粒、抽絲，再製成運動服飾，台灣也因此建立起全球機能布王國的地位。
然而近年風向開始改變。
歐盟認為寶特瓶應優先回到「瓶到瓶（Bottle-to-Bottle）」循環體系，而非變成衣服，因此寶特瓶紗逐漸被視為較偏向「降級回收（Downcycling）」模式。再加上飲料品牌積極回收自家瓶子，原料來源愈來愈緊張，也迫使紡織業尋找下一個答案。
而新纖押注的，就是T2T。
寶特瓶紗是「瓶子變衣服」，T2T則是「衣服再變回衣服」。
兩者最大的差異在於原料來源。
寶特瓶紗使用的是回收飲料瓶；
T2T使用的則是廢棄衣物、生產邊角料與舊紡織品。
透過化學回收技術，將聚酯纖維分解回分子層級，再重新聚合成高品質聚酯原料，製成新的運動服飾。
這樣的好處是：
✔ 不再與食品包裝產業爭奪寶特瓶原料
✔ 可直接解決紡織廢棄物問題
✔ 更符合歐盟循環經濟政策方向
✔ 有機會實現真正的「衣到衣」閉環循環
但新纖真正值得注意的，可能還不是T2T本身。
而是另一項已開始量產的新武器—— Neolast™。
Neolast，可能是T2T最後一塊拼圖。
長久以來，紡織業最頭痛的回收難題其實不是聚酯纖維，而是彈性纖維（Spandex、萊卡）。
因為大多數運動服都含有5%到15%的彈性纖維。
雖然比例不高，卻往往讓整件衣服在回收時必須拆解、分離，甚至直接失去再利用價值。
這也是為什麼很多號稱可回收的衣服，最後仍難以真正做到衣到衣循環。
而Neolast的出現，正是為了解決這個問題。
Neolast是Celanese開發的新世代彈性纖維材料，具備與Spandex相近的彈性、耐用性與吸濕排汗性能，但採用可回收的Elastoester聚合物製造，可望改善傳統彈性纖維無法回收的問題。
更重要的是，Neolast可透過無溶劑熔融製程生產，降低傳統彈性纖維製造過程中的化學品使用，同時提高未來循環回收的相容性。
而新纖近年已投入Neolast相關合作與量產布局，對未來Nike等國際品牌推動單一材質（Mono-Material）服飾具有重要意義。
因為當一件球衣的主體是聚酯纖維，彈性纖維也能採用可回收體系時，未來就更有機會實現：
一件衣服 → 回收 → 再製成另一件衣服
真正做到完整的T2T循環。
如果說寶特瓶紗是上一個世代的答案，
那麼T2T與Neolast，很可能就是下一個世代的標準答案。
過去世界盃場上，我們看到的是台灣的寶特瓶紗。
而今天，當巴西、法國、英格蘭、韓國等Nike球隊穿上新一代永續球衣時，背後代表的已不只是回收寶特瓶技術。
而是新纖正在推動的下一場革命：
從「Bottle-to-Fiber（瓶到纖維）」，
走向真正的「Textile-to-Textile（衣到衣循環）」。
而Neolast的加入，則讓這條路離全面實現，又更近了一步。
