If your vacuum pump is:
- Losing vacuum
- Running hotter than usual
- Taking longer to pull down
…it might not be a maintenance issue.
It could be the wrong pump type from the start.
One common mistake:
Using an oil-free vane pump in applications with moisture or vapour.
Oil-free rotary vane pumps are great for:
✔ Clean processes (food, medical, packaging)
✔ Dry air applications
✔ OEM equipment
But they’re NOT designed for:
✖ Wet or condensable gases
✖ Heavy industrial vapour loads
That’s where many systems start failing early.
If you’re selecting or replacing a pump, understanding the difference matters more than the brand.
