KEEN TO BE A TRUCK PARTS PERSON?

A rare opportunity has popped up to join our Parts Team at McCurdy Trucks!

We're on the hunt for another team member to join our busy Parts Department, primarily looking after the parts requirements of our own workshops.

You'll also occasionally lend a hand at our retail front counter, helping local fleet operators and retail customers with their parts needs.

We deal with a huge range of products, including new heavy and light truck and trailer parts, ute and SUV parts and accessories, engineering and fabrication supplies, and lubricants.

Who would this role suit?
- Someone with automotive parts experience who's keen to step up into the heavy vehicle world.
- A mechanic looking to put their technical knowledge to good use in a Parts Department.
- Or perhaps you're already a heavy transport parts guru looking to join one of the best teams in Taranaki!

You don't necessarily need heavy truck parts experience. A good mechanical understanding, a willingness to learn and a great attitude will go a long way.

This is what a winning Team looks like! 🏆

Our lads came out on top at this year’s Taranaki Apprentice Challenge, organised by BeSafe Taranaki and held at WITT!

The event saw 12 Teams of Apprentices from businesses across Taranaki go head-to-head in 12 challenges, putting their physical, mental, practical, and teamwork skills to the test.

A big thank you to everyone involved in organising such a great event, including all the sponsors and prize suppliers who helped make the day possible.

And a massive well done to Ezra, Jayden, Korbin, and Ty for getting stuck in, giving it their all, and doing McCurdy Trucks proud!

SERVICING TECHNICIAN – TRUCKS & TRAILERS

Enjoy working on vehicles but had enough of the heavy repairs and diagnostics?

We're on the hunt for another team member to join our busy award winning Service Workshop at McCurdy Trucks.

This is a dedicated servicing role, primarily looking after routine truck and trailer servicing, preventative maintenance and pre-COF checks.

Your day will involve the basics – oil changes, greasing, checking component wear, general servicing and identifying anything that needs further attention.

Who would this role suit?

- An experienced mechanic looking to step away from the heavy repair work and diagnostics.
- A light vehicle technician keen to make the move into the heavy vehicle industry.
- Someone mechanically minded who enjoys hands-on work and takes pride in doing the job properly.

You don't need to be a qualified heavy diesel technician, but some mechanical experience and a good attitude are important.

What we're offering:

- Monday to Friday – no weekend work!
- Some weekday overtime available.
- A dedicated servicing role without the major repairs and complicated diagnostics.
- A friendly, established workshop team and modern environment.

How good did these come up!
And how good to be recognised by Dynes Transport (Tapanui) Ltd as transport fabrication specialists and being given the opportunity to build four swap units in time for the current milk season.

These machines are now working hard in peak South Island milk season with tanks and pull trailers. In the off season, the tank lifts off to reveal 5th wheels that are permanently mounted to the chassis. Before the tank even comes off the forklift, the truck is back pulling a semi-trailer.

Thank you to Pete, Steve, and Craig, for trusting us to bring this project to life!
