Today our gateway students got a tour around Southair and learned about aircraft maintenance and how aircraft engines are overhauled. Massive thanks to Southair Ltd and their engine shop manager Damon Himburg for explaining about how engines are overhauled.

Welcome back Foxtrot! New engine!

Massive Thanks to Damon and the Southair Team in Dunedin for an incredibly quick turn around on the engine, Damon and his Team are artists VCF's new engine is sooooooo incredibly smooth, Aaron was never 100% happy with the balance of VCF's engine so Damon went through extra effort to ensure this new built was silky smooth and better balanced than a samuaris sword! Huge thanks to Avtek for the quick installation and to Noel of Noel Henderson Fibreglassing of Washdyke for a beautiful recondition and paint of VCF's cowls, if you need any fibreglassing especially aircraft work Noel is second to none beautiful workmanship perfect fits and knows how to keep it lite!

If you want to take VCF for a fly contact Aaron about the special run in rate the club is offering (cost plus fuel), VCF has 10-15hours of run in to complete before she can go back to normal abinitio training. Meaning she needs to be run hard to get the pistons to become friends with the cylinders.
