“It’s hard to imagine a more spectacular setting for a big trad route. Perfect granite rising straight out of the sea, with the islands and ocean stretching away behind you as you climb higher up the wall.

The rock is incredible — clean, solid granite with cracks that just seem made for climbing. There’s something especially satisfying about climbing a line like this completely on trad gear, placing your own protection in such good rock and following the natural features all the way up.

Long, sustained climbing in an absolutely wild position. Lofoten really is a special place to climb.”

Montane athlete Jenny Tough recently took on the Primorska Planinarska Transverzala in Montenegro, a rugged route with little to no water or resupply along the way. With support from her crew, who made the daily journey from the Adriatic coast back into the mountains, Jenny was able to focus on the challenge ahead.
