Clarity on Propane Regulator Compliance
There has been a new Irish Standard for domestic installations (I.S.813:2025) implemented recently.
This new standard requires installations involving propane to have both overpressure and excess flow protection. Overpressure protection may be provided in two forms, i) Pressure relief valve, or ii) over pressure shut off.
All low pressure (37mbar nominal) propane cylinder regulators and change over propane regulators which we supply do have both of the required safety features, overpressure protection and excess flow.
The safety features may be identified on the fixed label on the regulators which we supply by the acronymous below.
EFV = Excess flow valve
PRV = Pressure relief
OPSO = Over pressure shut off.
Please be informed that an individual’s opinion, whether in authority or not, does not prevail over our implemented Irish Standards.
