We now stock Opinel Mushroom Knifes! 🍄

This beautifully-made Opinel is very functional and purpose-made for the job. The soft brush cleans off the woodland debris well without damaging the mushroom. And the angled sharp knife makes cutting at the base easier.

A handy tool for the foraging enthusiast!

Check it out on our website alongside our range of other quality knifes, saws and secateurs. 🔗 in bio.

We have lots of organic 'Husky' oat seed in stock now! 🌾

The market leader, Husky is a 'white' hulled oat which matures early meaning that it is ideal where timeliness of harvest can be critical. Husky is known to have very good grain quality with a particularly good kernel content and very good specific weight. It has short straw and good resistance to lodging as well as very good resistance to mildew. Proven winter hardiness in trials and on farm.

TGW (thousand grain weight) is 36 and seeding rate is 70-75kg/acre.

We sell in 500kg bags and 20kg bags. You can order online or call us on 027 50710.

We are well stocked up on scythes and accessories at the moment!

A scythe is the perfect tool for Autumn meadow management or bramble & bracken clearing. Plus, in contrast to the disruptive noise of a strimmer, the scythe's smooth cutting motion maintains a peaceful atmosphere.

Our range includes wooden snaths, clearing blades suitable for brambles and other woody plants, mowing blades for grass and meadows, sickles & hand scythes plus accessories like sharpening stones & holders.

If you need help choosing the right size snath or blade, get in touch - we are happy to advise.

It’s hard to believe October has arrived! While the garden still has plenty to offer for harvest, there are also a few crops you can sow and plant at this time of year. 🌱🍂

Garlic, overwintering onions, spring flowering bulbs can be planted now plus yellow rattle, a small selection of seeds and green manures can still be sown.

Yellow Rattle seed is available now! 🌾🌱

Yellow rattle (Rhinanthus minor) has beautiful gold flowers and is a valuable wildflower, but it is also famous for its ability to reduce the vigour of grass. The plant operates as a partial parasite on grasses, it will lock its roots onto the roots of grasses, and draw water and nutrients from them, suppressing the growth of grasses by up to 60%. Therefore giving other flowers more room to grow.

We stock native seeds collected from meadows in Ireland 👉 https://www.fruithillfarm.com/seeds-and-propagation/organic-seeds/flower-meadow-seed-mixes/yellow-rattle-seed.html
