Support your tall and climbing plants with biodegradeble twines and netting! 🌱

We've got a jute pea & bean support which can be used for peas, sweet peas, beans and other climbers. It is strong yet soft to the touch, so won't damage plants and can be composted at the end of the season.

For other plants supports we have a range of natural twines to choose from. We also have compostable clips to secure plant to the support. They are easy to use and will gently support the plants and also eliminate the need to twist the twine around the stem.

How to protect your brassica translants from the Cabbage Root Fly πŸͺ°πŸŒ±

Cabbage root fly (Delia radicum) can wreak havoc on young brassica plants. These tiny insects lay their eggs at the base of the plants, and their larvae cause root damage and stunted growth.

Protect your plants with Bionet, a fine mesh netting that will prevent the fly from getting to the root of the plant. (Note: Netting should be removed as the plants get stronger to avoid a build up of aphids).

Or place 'collars' around the base of each plant. You can use mulching discs for this or they can be made from cardboard, felt, or fabric. They prevent flies from accessing the soil directly around the stem.

You can apply Tercol plant strengthener to your plants when transplanting, it helps repel harmful soil insects and their larvae. It can also be applied while the brassicas are still in the trays as a preventative.
