Customers in Petite Bacay, Westerhall, La Calome and surrounding communities in St. David are advised that their water supply will be interrupted from 8:00 p.m. tonight, Monday, September 28, 2026, until 5:00 a.m. tomorrow, Tuesday, September 29, 2026.

The interruption is necessary to facilitate the recharging of the water supply system.

Affected customers are encouraged to collect and safely store sufficient water ahead of the interruption and to manage their stored supply carefully until service is restored.

Customers are reminded that following the reopening of the network, water supply may take up to two additional hours to fully normalize, particularly in elevated areas and at the extremities of the distribution system.

Customers may also experience temporary discolouration or increased turbidity as the network repressurizes.

NAWASA apologizes for the inconvenience caused and thanks customers for their patience and understanding.

The National Water and Sewerage Authority (NAWASA) will begin installing a new 12-inch water main between the Woodlands Junction and the Sugar Mill Roundabout on Tuesday, September 29, 2026. The project is expected to take approximately three months.

The new main will replace ageing infrastructure, strengthen the water distribution network and improve the reliability of supply in the area. Completing the installation ahead of planned road resurfacing by Namalco will also reduce the likelihood of excavating the rehabilitated roadway to replace the existing pipeline.

NAWASA has coordinated the works with the Ministry of Infrastructure, the Royal Grenada Police Force (RGPF), the Grenada Transport Commission, Namalco and other stakeholders, with particular attention to road safety and access for residents and businesses.

WATER SUPPLY ADVISORY | MIRABEAU WATER SYSTEM

Water supply is currently interrupted in Grenville and several surrounding communities in St. Andrew due to heavy siltation at the dam supplying the Mirabeau Water Treatment Plant.

Reopening is scheduled for approximately 8:00 a.m. tomorrow, Monday, September 28, but may be delayed depending on conditions at the dam. Please use stored water carefully and see the advisory for the full list of affected communities.

WATER SUPPLY INTERRUPTION – MT. HORNE WATER SYSTEM

The National Water and Sewerage Authority (NAWASA) advises consumers in Mt. Horne, Paradise, Dunfermline, Pearls, Canal Road, La Fillette, Seamoon and surrounding communities in St. Andrew that the dam supplying the Mt. Horne water treatment plant is completely silted, preventing water from reaching the plant.

Approximately 95% of Grenada’s water supply comes from surface water sources. These waterways provide the raw water that is collected, treated and ultimately delivered to homes, schools, businesses and communities across the country.

That makes their protection everyone’s responsibility.

What enters our rivers can eventually affect the water we depend on.

The Royal Grenada Police Force (RGPF) wishes to inform the general public, particularly motorists, that the following traffic arrangements will be in effect to facilitate NAWASA pipeline works along the Woodlands Public Road, and extending in the direction of Sugar Mill.

𝐎𝐧𝐞-𝐖𝐚𝐲 𝐓𝐫𝐚𝐟𝐟𝐢𝐜:
Traffic will flow in one direction from Grand Anse Valley towards Woodlands/Springs.

𝐀𝐥𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐑𝐨𝐮𝐭𝐞:
Motorists travelling from the Springs direction will be required to use an alternative route, as access through the affected area will be restricted.

𝐍𝐨 𝐄𝐧𝐭𝐫𝐲:
A No entry sign will be placed at the Woodlands Junction. Motorists will not be permitted to enter the affected area from that direction.

The traffic arrangements will take effect on Monday, 28th September 2026, and will remain in effect for approximately three (3) months, during the following hours:

Customers in Café, Crochu through to Lambert Bridge and surrounding communities are advised that the current interruption in their water supply is due to a broken six-inch water main in Crochu.

The necessary repairs are scheduled to be undertaken tomorrow, Friday, September 25, 2026, with restoration of the water supply is anticipated by 4:00 p.m., barring any unforeseen circumstances.

Affected customers are encouraged to manage their stored water supply carefully until repairs are completed and service is restored.

Customers are reminded that following the reopening of the network, water supply may take up to two additional hours to fully normalize, particularly in elevated areas and at the extremities of the distribution system.

The National Water and Sewerage Authority advises that it will commence excavation and pipelaying works along the Woodlands to Grand Anse corridor on Monday, September 28, 2026.

The project is being undertaken in conjunction with the Ministry of Infrastructure Development, as part of its planned road rehabilitation works along the corridor, allowing NAWASA to install the necessary water infrastructure ahead of the road works.

The project covers approximately 5.4 miles and is expected to continue for approximately three months, with completion expected by December 2026.

Works will take place from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. Monday to Thursday, 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Friday and 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday.

Contractor Namalco will be assisting NAWASA, and heavy machinery will be operating along sections of the route.

Motorists should expect temporary traffic disruptions as works progress and are asked to slow down, exercise caution, follow all traffic signs and directions from personnel on site, and allow additional travel time.

NAWASA apologises for the temporary inconvenience and thanks residents, businesses and motorists for their patience and cooperation during these important infrastructure works.

𝐍𝐀𝐖𝐀𝐒𝐀 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐯𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐬 𝐔𝐩𝐝𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐨𝐧 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟑–𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔 𝐂𝐨𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐋𝐚𝐛𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐀𝐠𝐫𝐞𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐍𝐞𝐠𝐨𝐭𝐢𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬

St. George’s, Grenada, September 24th, 2026; The National Water and Sewerage Authority (NAWASA) provides the following update on its negotiations with the Public Workers’ Union (PWU) concerning the 2023–2026 Collective Labour Agreement (CLA).

All provisions carried forward from the 2020–2023 agreement have been agreed for the 2023–2026 CLA, including salary increases.
From NAWASA’s perspective, negotiations on those provisions have concluded, subject to the formal signing of the agreement. The agreed salary increases will be paid once the agreement is signed.

PWU has proposed the reintroduction of a provision indexing pension increase to salary increases. The indexing of pension increases was not a provision of the 2020–2023 agreement, having been removed from the 2009 – 2012 agreement by mutual agreement between NAWASA and the PWU. NAWASA maintains that this proposal should be deferred for consideration during negotiations for the 2026–2029 agreement.

NAWASA remains committed to engaging with the PWU in good faith and bringing the 2023–2026 negotiations to a formal conclusion. The parties are scheduled to meet again on Friday, September 25, 2026, to discuss the outstanding matter.
