Project Spotlight: St Mark’s Square, Bromley

While façade remediation is primarily driven by fire safety, a major project at St Mark’s Square highlights the added value of investing in solutions that also deliver long-term durability and all-round protection.

The high-rise residential buildings required remediation works to replace combustible cladding and significantly improve the overall fire performance of the building envelope. The project was led by RED Construction, a specialist in complex urban remediation schemes.

A key component of the upgraded façade system was Stamisol Safe One, an award-winning breather membrane selected for its exceptional combination of fire safety and durability:

• Class A2-s1, d0 (limited-combustible) fire rating, exceeding regulatory requirements for breather membranes on high-rise residential buildings
• UV Stability independently tested for up to 5,000 hours

Yesterday we were pleased to welcome NASC representatives Dennis Braithwaite and Steve Kearney to our headquarters.

During the visit, they toured our independent Product Development and Testing Facility, seeing first-hand how we support product innovation, quality assurance, and performance benchmarking through in-house testing and development.

The day also included valuable discussions around continuous improvement, safety, durability, and long-term product performance, alongside NASC Safety Day 2026 taking place on 10 June.

As urban construction activity increases—particularly high-rise residential and cladding remediation projects—noise management in city centres is often a critical planning consideration.

While not always a statutory requirement, many contractors and local authorities are adopting best practice measures, including acoustic scaffold sheeting systems.
