It's been lovely being out on the road this week making deliveries whilst the sun is shining. ☀️

One of our deliveries was a Quickie Nitrum manual wheelchair, this time in stunning cherry red.

With an ultra-light lifting weight of just 4.9kg, the Nitrum combines lightweight rigidity, an adjustable custom fit, and fine tuning to offer users an incredibly energy-efficient ride.

Another fantastic team day! 🙌

Once a year, we close the office and come together to celebrate who we are, reflect on our journey, and plan for what's ahead, and this year didn’t disappoint.

This year's theme? Understanding ourselves and each other. Here's a little peek at what we got up to:

🎢 Tested our creativity and team-building skills with the straw rollercoaster challenge
🙋 Learnt some fun (and surprising) facts about each other in our icebreakers
🏆 Introduced our brand-new value awards and celebrated our first winners (more on that coming soon!)

It’s Mental Health Awareness Week - and while we really value the conversations it encourages, we wanted to share some of the things we’re doing here at Independence Mobility to support our team every day.

This year, we've introduced an extra holiday day for everyone: a dedicated wellbeing day to use however needed. No agenda. No explanation required. Sometimes you just need time to rest and recharge your batteries. 🔋

We’ve also transformed our (new!) office to be a space that genuinely feels good to work in - with chill-out areas, plenty of greenery (because plants really do help 🌿), and standing desks for everyone for when they prefer to work on their feet.

And of course, there’s Hunter — our office dog and Head of Morale. He's always on hand for cuddles, a quick walk around the block to get us out in the fresh air, and instant mood boosts. 🐶

These might feel like small steps, and we know there’s always more we can do, but creating a supportive workplace is something we’re committed to and we'll keep improving.

And if you’re struggling and need someone to talk to, we can’t recommend Mind enough. They do incredible work supporting mental health across the UK. 💙

We’re excited to be exhibiting at this year’s BABICM Annual Conference which will be taking place on 2nd–3rd June at the International Convention Centre in Birmingham.

With over 750 attendees registered for the 2 days, it’s set to be a fantastic event and we can't wait to see everyone there. Our team will be on stand 67.

The love of pink continues 💗

Over the past year, we’ve seen a lot of pink wheelchairs heading out the door - and we’re all for it. With pink at the heart of our brand, it’s a colour we cherish.

Funded by the brilliant the Charity for Disabled Children this high-performance powerchair is going to make a world of difference to Jake and his whole family.

"I had shattered the footplate on my quickie carbon, I contacted Andrew their out and about salesman who advised me to ring Michelle at the office. To cut a long story short Michelle organised an appointment for me to meet up with Sean the engineer at Independence Mobility and 2 days later I had a new footplate fitted. Sean was waiting in the repair area when I arrived and told me to wait in the car while he took my chair and fitted the new one. 5 minutes later he was back with my chair, bringing it back and putting it back on the front seat for me.

I never go anywhere else for my mobility needs now because I don’t need to, these guys are always caring and so helpful, showing empathy all the way. If you need a new wheelchair or your current chair needs maintaining, just ring these guys, you won’t get better service anywhere I promise you.

Andrew, thank you for always being available. Michelle, thank you for listening and caring as always. Sean, you’re the rock star of wheelchair maintenance and always there when needed. Cheers Sean."

We recently delivered an Invacare Rea Azalea tilt-in-space wheelchair to one of our wonderful customers — and the impact was immediate. 😊

Within just 10 days of ordering, we had delivered the chair and enabled her to go outside for the first time in over two years.

Moments like this are exactly why we do what we do. Helping people regain independence, confidence, and quality of life isn’t just our job — it’s what drives our passion every single day. 🩷
