Here we have an Alamarin-Jet AJ 230 Waterjet.

Produced in Finland, this is now the industry standard for SOLAS Fast Rescue Craft and is renowned worldwide for its extremely robust and simple design while maintaining high cavitation limits with high-speed vessel performance.

In this instance, our customer is a ship management company with whom we work with closely. This waterjet will replace an existing unit that is coupled to a Yanmar engine and propels a Fast Rescue Craft upon a much larger Heavy-Lift Pipe-Laying vessel, currently lying in Singapore.

We sell and distribute a wide range of spare parts for lifeboats and similar rescue craft, and in this instance, the complete propulsion unit.

Here we have a reconditioned Lister Petter LPA2 engine.

The original engine was produced in 1993 and is a build 85, being fixed speed at 3000rpm for generator application.

This unit will be a like-for-like replacement, providing back-up power for a British Telecom (BT) site.

We will deliver the new unit and collect the old one, ready to recondition for another customer in the future.

We don’t just deal in the ‘heritage’ Lister Petter models, such as the TR and LPW.

Sleeman & Hawken are the UK distributors for the entire range of Lister Petter product.

Lister Petter’s new models are starting to get traction in both the UK and worldwide.

Here are just a few examples of some recent projects;

- Replacing old Lister Petter CD4 and CDT4 models (produced in 1995) with the new variable speed industrial Starlite SA432i3 and SA435i1 models. These produce 65kW and 74kW respectively, up to 2600rpm. We paired these with Twin Disc over centre clutches and bespoke start panels, for a lime kiln facility application.

- A fixed speed Starlite SA435G1 (49kW) and Venus LP443G4 (100kW) for a pumping application. We developed bespoke engine controller and starting solutions to the customer’s requirements.

- A fixed speed Venus LP613G1 (373kW) for an overseas generator OEM.
A Stage V fixed speed Mercury Max LP322EVG1 (35kW) for a generator OEM in Poland.

- Multiple smaller Starlite models SA427G1 up to SA441G1 (27kW to 65kW) for a generator OEM in Portugal, and replenishing the stocks of fellow Lister Petter distributors in Poland and South Africa.

We still have 24 of the new Lister Petter models available in stock in the UK, with more on the way. Here we have 6x Kohler (Rehlko) KDI2504TM engines for generator application. These are to aid the repair of 6x 45kVA JCB generators.

Our customer is a generator hire company serving Liverpool and Manchester, hence these units are worked hard and occasionally the replacing of the complete engine is the most economic form of repair to extend the life of the complete generator.

On Friday 27 February 2026, we said farewell to our Dispatch Manager, Graham Pattison, who after 23.5 years with Sleeman & Hawken, decided to take early retirement.

Many of you will know Graham, who was in regular contact with all of our customers, informing them of their consignment tracking details, coordinating collections, and carefully packing and wrapping our parcels with extreme care and diligence.

We calculated that, during his time with us, Graham had handled approximately 81,000 shipments across over 200,000 invoices!

Ben Woodcock, formerly of Goods In, has stepped up to succeed Graham. He will be supported by Wayne, another long standing member of the Warehouse Team, ensuring a smooth transition and continued expertise.

We wish Graham a long and happy retirement. The place won’t be the same without him.

Yes, we do Perkins engines as well!

Here we have a Perkins 1104C-44T Diesel Engine, delivering 74kW at 2400rpm.

This particular build no. RG81391 is a material handling spec., fitted to a Merlo P38.13 Plus Telehandler.

The order is for a UK based Export House, with the engine destined overseas.
