HIRING: PROCUREMENT SPECIALIST

About the Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for planning and managing the procurement of all materials required to build up to 200 transit mixers per year and to support parts aftersales requirements. Developing systems and processes to develop from start-up to full production. Re-ordering is by discrete orders triggered by consumption – no MRP is in place currently. This role is a combined purchasing and material planning role.

While having the above specific responsibilities, the individual must also work with the onsite logistics team to ensure the physical logistics and associated processes are aligned to ensure accurate stock positions as these are driving the re-order process for most of the material.

Job Summary

Responsibilities:

• Purchasing materials for production and aftersales, this is predominantly laser cut materials and small standard parts.

• Managing in liaison with Sales and Production the material availability in line with the Production Schedule.

• Managing the inventory parameters, mostly Item Master File Data to ensure that the re-order process delivers the availability and inventory levels required as the business grows.



Qualifications and Skills

You must be:

• Capable of developing and improving systems as well as just using them.

• Interested in being influential in the supply chain from sourcing through to delivery on-line.

• Capable of working across several areas by collaboration and interpersonal skill.

• Passionate about making a difference to a new business from the start.

• Organised and pro-active.

• Capable of working to various horizons from short term requirements to strategic sourcing.

• Can demonstrate strong skills in total cost of acquisition, not just purchase order cost.

• Used to working to engineering drawings and working closely with the engineering personnel to ensure part specs are met and quality assured.



You must have:

• Significant purchasing experience in a relevant industry.

• Strong material planning and control experience.

• NVQ or similar in Supply Chain or Procurement.

⚙️Must be highly skilled in MIG welding.
⚙️Strong attention to detail
⚙️Training provided to the right candidates


Plater/Fabricators

⚙️Must be able to work from detailed drawings to within a +-1mm tolerance.
⚙️Must be skilled in MIG welding.
⚙️Must be able to fabricate objects using pre-cut parts.
⚙️Must be able to help design, create and use Jigs to assure quality repeatability and efficiency.
⚙️Training provided to the right candidates

Assemblers:

⚙️Must have experience assembling products to a very high standard.
⚙️Must have good knowledge of power tools and how to use them safely.
⚙️Truck body fitting or vehicle assembly experience useful, but not essential.
