Rigging Projects have recently completed a full sailing systems refit on Swan 100-03, Suvake. Originally launched in 2000, this yacht proves age is just a number when you have the right upgrades. Now firmly brought into the modern era, she’s back in the water and ready to take on both US coastal cruising and the Mediterranean race circuit.

At the heart of the upgrades is a new bowsprit configuration with a 2 x 2:1 Pignose set up, allowing for a furling Code Zero and unlocking serious performance gains while future-proofing for sail wardrobe upgrades down the line.

Ferrules and Switch Leads were installed to streamline furling gear and tack line runs. A redesigned pit area combines clean aesthetics with practical usability and a new jib cunningham system was also designed & installed.

Collaboration with and ensured that hardware placement was optimised across the deck, from Padeyes and Double Stack Blocks to Mainsheet X Car with X Glide Integrated Swivel.

Alongside we upgraded all the locking systems, including a 20T Idler Shave Lock integrated with an under-deck hydraulic ram and 6T & 8T Forward Locks.

The result? A meticulously executed refit that balances innovation, durability and style. We look forward to seeing her in the med this summer.

Last week we had a group of students from Brockenhurst College visit our HQ and implement Shoestring, a low-cost, practical approach that helps manufacturers like ourselves to embrace digital solutions to monitor different areas of the business.

Using research from and simple off-the-shelf Raspberry Pi sensors, they fitted power monitoring to one of our CNC machines and a downtime monitor to another. These are now up and running and gathering data to help us improve efficiency & better understand our power usage.

Within a few hours they fitted low-risk digital solutions that will make a difference to how we function as a business. The Shoestring programme also empowers these students to walk into any work place and immediately add value, without it costing the earth. A win win situation and a project we are very proud to support.
