As England prepares for the start of its 2026 World Cup campaign, we're looking back at a project that helped create one of the most recognisable landmarks in British sport.

During the construction of Wembley Stadium's iconic arch, our team at Tees Components machined and supplied Cleveland Bridge with the steel components for the feet of the Arch.

While millions of fans recognise the finished structure, few see the precision engineering behind it. Every major landmark relies on thousands of carefully manufactured components, each playing its part in delivering the final vision.

We're so proud to have contributed to a project that has become synonymous with some of the nation's greatest sporting moments.

Long before the first whistle, the engineering had already begun.

Rumour even has it that a Middlesbrough football shirt was stuffed inside during construction by a Cleveland bridge worker - https://www.thefreelibrary.com/Now+we%27re+there+for+real%2c+says+grandad+who+stuffed+Boro+shirts+into...-a0414374211

Will you be watching the match tonight?

Tees Components is proud to support our local heritage by donating 24 hard hats to Mining Museum in Skinningrove.

Here is our Contracts and Marketing Officer Beth with the Land of Iron Museum Manager Andrew.

The donation is particularly meaningful to us, as our North Skelton workshops are located on the site of the former North Skelton Ironstone Mine which was the last operating ironstone mine in North Skelton.

Land of Iron is an independent museum dedicated to preserving and celebrating the rich history of the iron and steel industries in our area. Located on the site of Cleveland's first ironstone mine, the museum offers visitors a fascinating journey through 150 years of industrial and social history, highlighting the vital role local communities played in supplying iron and steel to the world.

We're delighted to play a small part in helping the museum continue to educate and inspire future generations about our region's industrial heritage.

Itโ€™s been another busy and rewarding week here at Tees Components!

It was great to see collaboration and skills development at the heart of everything we've been doing.

-Tees Components hosted the quarterly Make UK North East Regional Advisory Board Meeting, and Sharon Lane chaired. It was a great opportunity for business leaders in the industry to collaborate and learn from each other.

-We were delighted when one of our first-tier customers invited us to bring an apprentice along to their site visit. Opportunities like these are invaluable in helping young people gain early professional experience and confidence. A big thank you to Josh Pearson, who took machine shop apprentice, Ben, along for the visit and networking experience. It's always encouraging to work with organisations that share our commitment to developing future talent.

-We were also proud to support the Middlesbrough College Student Awards. Tees Components sponsored the TTE Mechanical, Machining and Manufacturing Engineering Student of the Year category. Claire Meadows represented Tees Components at the event. It was a fantastic event, helping to celebrate the achievements of the next generation.

-Meanwhile, investment in our own people continued throughout the week, with a range of training programmes taking place. Team Leaders Brad and Matt completed Emergency First Aid training, while Deputy Head of Health & Safety Sam, alongside Graham and Ben from the workshop, undertook Fire Marshal training. Developing skills, building confidence, and maintaining the highest standards of safety remain key priorities for our business.

We are looking forward to seeing what the rest of the month brings!
