Overview
The Tides Marine Brush Bar is a precision-engineered shaft bonding solution designed to mount directly to the Tides Marine Shaft Seal head, establishing continuous electrical contact with the rotating propeller shaft and integrating fully into the vessel’s cathodic protection system. Equipped with high-performance Silver-graphite brushes, the assembly provides robust mitigation against galvanic corrosion affecting underwater metals and delivers substantial reduction of electrical interference across onboard systems.

• Shaft range: 1¼ inch to 2 inch
Brush Bar – Large
• Shaft range: 2 inch to 4½ inch

For shaft diameters exceeding 4½ inches, please contact Tides Marine directly. Our engineering team will be pleased to design and manufacture a larger brush assembly tailored to your specific requirements.

To keep your SureSeal™ system in top condition, make sure to include the following in your yearly checks:

Inspect the blue articulating hose for any signs of wear or damage.

Check hose clamps for corrosion.

Remove the water injection hoses and confirm fittings and lines are clear of debris.

We are pleased to share another successful installation of Tides Marine shaft seals, this time on a Sunseeker 47 Portofino. The customer is extremely happy with the performance and reliability of the seals — a testament to the quality and durability of our systems.

In addition, the vessel has been fitted with our Smart Seal Temperature Alarm. This advanced overheat warning system uses solid-state sensors to continuously monitor the operating temperature of Tides Marine’s ABS-certified propeller shaft seal systems, widely used across both commercial and pleasure craft.

Any rise above normal operating temperature triggers an immediate audible and visual alarm, ensuring potential issues can be addressed before any damage occurs to the seal head — improving safety, reliability, and peace of mind on the water.
