Some things behind a business don’t really make it onto social media.

Like having your dad standing beside you on the stand at an event that you’ve built your own business to be part of.

Reece’s dad is a tradesman himself, so he’s no stranger to early starts, long days, getting stuck in and everything that comes with running a trade.

Having him there at the New Forest Show meant a lot. Not just because he was helping out, but because he’s been there long before Agate MHE was ever an idea.

There’s something pretty special about being able to share moments like this with the people who supported you before there was a business to support.

And yes, he did put in a fair few hours on the stand too 😂

20 minutes. From phone call to fixed 👀

Agate MHE was called out to Greyhound Yorkshire Limited after a forklift developed a fault with its starter motor.

A quick bit of fault finding, a replacement starter motor and the truck was back up and running — all within 20 minutes of the call coming in 🔧

That might just be a new Agate MHE record… although Reece will probably be hoping nobody starts timing him now! 😂

It’s not every repair that can be sorted that quickly, but when the fault is identified and the right parts are available, sometimes everything just falls into place.

Another forklift back in action and one less thing for the customer to worry about.

Meet Cocoa… the newest member of the Agate MHE family 🫏

We have adopted Cocoa through The Donkey Sanctuary, so she’s officially part of the team — although we’re not expecting her to start turning spanners anytime soon… but she may have the most important job of all: being very cute 😂

The whole team here at Agate MHE is really pleased to be able to support Cocoa and The Donkey Sanctuary, and it’ll be lovely to follow her adventures.

There’s a lot more to forklift servicing than just turning up with a toolbox 🔧

One of the things we use to keep on top of servicing and maintenance is Service Geeni - helping our service team keep track of equipment, service history, upcoming work and all the little details that are easy to lose track of when you’re constantly on the road.

Because when you’re looking after multiple trucks across different businesses, a decent system makes life a whole lot easier.

It means less relying on bits of paper in the van, fewer things getting missed, and a much clearer picture of what each machine needs and when 📋

And with servicing being a big focus for Agate MHE this month, there’ll be a few more looks behind the scenes at what goes into keeping customers’ equipment in good shape 👀

Remember the teddy bear we gave away as a prize at the New Forest Show? 🧸

Well… it turns out she’s been given a name!

Meet Aurora, now happily settled in with her new mum.

It’s funny what you end up taking away from a few days at a show — a few new connections, plenty of forklift chat… and apparently a new member of the family! 😂

Lovely to see Aurora is being well looked after!

There’s a lot that goes into choosing a new forklift.

Will it actually suit the job? Is it the right size? Is it going to do what’s needed? And, perhaps most importantly, have you made the right decision?

So when a customer says the whole process felt seamless from start to finish, that’s a pretty good review to receive 🙌

From helping find the right machine through to getting it delivered and into work, Reece always wants the process to feel straightforward rather than making things more complicated than they need to be.

And hearing that the new truck is now doing exactly what it was bought to do is the best part.

A big thank you to this customer for taking the time to leave such a brilliant review 👍

It’s not always easy figuring out what you want to do when you’re younger.

There’s so much pressure to have a plan - what subjects to take, what career to choose, where you want to be in five or ten years. But sometimes, the best way to find out what you enjoy is simply to get stuck in and have a go.

Recently, Les’ nephew joined Agate MHE for some work experience, spending a few days getting involved and seeing what goes on behind the scenes.

From getting hands-on with the equipment to seeing what an engineer’s day actually looks like, it’s a chance to experience something for real rather than just reading about it or trying to imagine what the job might be like.

And who knows? He might leave thinking, “Yep, this is for me” - or he might decide it’s definitely not! 😂

Either way, that’s exactly what work experience is there for.

Sometimes you don’t figure out what you want to do by having all the answers. You figure it out by trying things.

Hopefully it gave him a little insight into what life in the MHE world is really like 🔧

Now that’s a forklift with a bit of presence 👀

This Mitsubishi FD80 was recently in for a service and thorough examination at Landau Marine, making sure this heavyweight is in good shape and ready for the work ahead.

It’s a good example of why forklift servicing isn’t just about fixing something when it goes wrong. Regular maintenance helps spot potential issues early, while a thorough examination provides the necessary safety checks to make sure the truck is safe to operate.

At Agate MHE, servicing and thorough examinations are all part of the job - whether it’s a compact electric truck or something with a little more muscle like this FD80 🔧

Keeping on top of both can make a big difference when your equipment is relied on every day.

Not every forklift gets to say it’s heading to Rolls-Royce… 😏

This CAT EP18PNT is off out on hire, heading to Rolls-Royce to get stuck into its next job.

It’s always interesting seeing where the trucks end up once they leave Agate MHE. One day they’re sitting in the yard, and the next they’re off to a completely different working environment.

This one should be right at home getting on with the job - compact, electric and ready for plenty of work ahead.

Safe travels, CAT. Try not to get too carried away with the VIP treatment 😂
