We're excited to announce that Helix has been selected as the hybrid electric drive partner for the all-new NTT INDYCAR SERIES IR-28 race car, debuting at the start of the 2028 championship. This partnership marks a significant milestone as we bring next-generation battery-based energy storage to America's fastest motorsport.

Working alongside BOLD Technology (battery) and Xtrac (transmission), we've engineered a hybrid powertrain that delivers approximately 14 times the energy storage capacity of the current supercapacitor system. Packaged inside the bellhousing between the combustion engine and gearbox, our design is approximately 20 pounds lighter than previous generations; reducing unsprung weight while giving drivers and teams far greater flexibility in hybrid power deployment. The system is being qualified to the most stringent motorsport safety standards, setting new benchmarks for both performance and reliability.

This marks an exciting evolution for our motorsport expertise. Our hybrid technology already powers championship-winning teams in FIA Formula One and FIA Formula E, and drives the hypercars of tomorrow. Now, we're bringing that innovation to INDYCAR's wheel-to-wheel competition - a series known for its intensity and ultra-competitive racing.

An extensive initial testing schedule for the new IR-28 will include a variety of circuits and layouts from Indianapolis Motor Speedway's road course and famed oval, Sebring International Raceway and more. We can't wait to see the IR-28 on track in 2028.

On 20 July 1969, Neil Armstrong stepped onto the surface of the Moon - the culmination of one of the most ambitious engineering programmes in human history. It required audacity, precision, and a willingness to push far beyond what anyone thought possible.

Series hybrid generators for aviation have relied on compromise: retrofit jet-engine APUs or adapt heavy land-based systems. Until now.

SiC inverters are rewriting the rules of EV power electronics. But faster switching speeds don't just unlock new performance - they expose new problems.

As silicon carbide MOSFETs replace IGBTs in traction inverters, the DC-link capacitor, long treated as a solved problem, needs to be reconsidered from first principles. Higher switching frequencies and steeper voltage transitions place demands on capacitor selection that older specifications simply weren't designed to address.
