- Full grade designation and required condition
- Section shape and size
- Quantity
- Stock length or cut-piece requirement
- Any tolerance, processing or certification requirement
- Delivery location and required date

If part of the specification is uncertain, flag it in the enquiry rather than leaving it open to interpretation.
