SR stands for Sustainable and Responsible; we are determined to improve our world of the environment. Having seen the amount of plastic waste generated by the eCommerce industry, we would like to do our part to make a change. Our mission now is to adopt zero waste concept that considers the complete lifecycle impact of a product from raw materials to sorting/reprocess all the way till end-of-life disposal. Our first product was recycled mailing bags, now is 100% recycled, recycled packaging requires much less energy and resources than virgin materials, and gives new life to materials that would otherwise be wasted away in the landfill. If something can’t be recycled, composting is the next best end-of-life option, if the product can’t be recycled or composted, we are working with ClimatePartner to get those products to offset to carbon neutral.95% of our products are earth-friendly, and you can shop with confidence as we work with more than 9000 eco-conscientious businesses by developing packaging made with as much recycled content as is humanly possible, and that can be easily recycled into new packaging in its next
life. SR Mailing has developed three ranges of sustainable products:
·100% recycled packaging for eCommerce dispatch eg 100% recycled mailing bags and 100% recycled cardboard boxes
·Developing difficulty in recycling plastic alternative biodegradable & compostable materials eg we developed a complete range of paper padded envelopes to replace traditional hard to separated HDPE bubble envelopes; home compostable mailing bags made from bioplastic to replace fossil-fuel plastic.
·We offset 249430 kg of carbon emissions supported offset project Hydropower Virunga DR Congo which means products not made from recycled nor compostable are carbon neutral.

£228.82 a tonne. How much recycled plastic is in your mailing bags?

Since 1 April 2026, the UK Plastic Packaging Tax rate has been £228.82 per tonne on chargeable plastic packaging containing less than 30% recycled plastic. Source: HMRC

Always learning at SR Mailing! 💻

Thanks to Dr. Liang for leading another KTP workshop on using Codex to summarise customer emails.

As a Manchester-based packaging supplier serving businesses across the UK, we’re exploring ways to make everyday customer communication easier. Getting to the key points in an email thread more quickly could leave us more time to understand what customers need and help with their packaging questions.

A useful chance to learn together and see where these tools might fit into our working day.

The Robopac pallet wrapper has arrived at our warehouse, and the team are getting together for some hands-on training.

A chance to get familiar with the controls, see it in action and ask plenty of questions. Always good to know the kit properly ourselves!

There’s more to these little chips than you might think.

Our starch-based packing peanuts offer an alternative to polystyrene loose fill, helping cushion products and fill the gaps inside your parcels.

They dissolve in water and are suitable for home composting, following the product instructions. Still useful? Keep them for another parcel first!

For us, thoughtful packaging means protecting what’s inside the box while making life a little easier after it’s unpacked, too.

Making room for peak season! 📦

Two new runs of racking are ready to use, giving our warehouse an extra 128 storage spaces, just in time for the busy weeks ahead.

With the new racking secured, we’ve got more room to stock up and keep the packaging you need ready to go.

A big thank you to our warehouse team for getting it all sorted. There’s plenty happening behind the scenes at this time of year, and we really appreciate the work that goes into it.
