We are pleased to be working with Hello Student to develop and implement the decarbonisation strategy for their estate. Through a number of pilot studies, we have identified interventions, easy wins and potential capital projects to deliver decarbonisation targets, lowering energy bills for students and landlords, and minimising maintenance costs for the entire estate. We are now providing technical design services for the interventions, assistance with tendering and procurement and site inspections during construction.

Plans for the Soapworks in Salford have been resubmitted, with commercial space reduced in favour of affordable homes. The major new waterfront development on the Manchester Ship Canal includes residential and commercial space, transport hub and new public realm and private residential gardens.

We have provided MEP Infrastructure to support the masterplan, MEP design and energy design for each building to support the planning application.

Plans for the £200m scheme led by Bankfoot APAM and Catella APAM have been resubmitted to Salford City Council after 128 homes were added to its hybrid application bringing the total to 578.

Some great photos of Place North West's Offices + Workspaces update last week, which discussed the demand for office space in Manchester city centre and the effects Covid and WFH still have on the design of the workspace. Andy Ringland spoke on the panel about the refurbishment of Civic in Wigan, detailing the challenges of putting in energy efficient technologies whilst working within the constraints of the existing building and considering its embodied carbon:
