Some very hot 🥵 days out there over the last week or so. 😎🏗️

We were glad for some lift and shift inside in the shade, although it doesn’t make for the best photos.
Then there were some crane lifts in the glorious sunshine that really showed off the blue skies above ☀️

However when we were down on the coast in Margate, 🍦 🎡🎢🎠 a typical cloudy day 🙄

Friday night in the centre of London on a job that’s been months in the planning.

A 300t Grove GMK6300L-1 was shoe horned into space just above Bank underground station 🚊

We were tasked by the client to lift a 6.2t ASHP to a roof top from an engineered position on the road, under the scrutiny of TFL and their engineering staff, avoiding various basements and the main ticket hall to Bank station.

Add to that a narrow street, lamp posts, CCTV cameras 🎥 plus a freshly planted tree 🌲 and it made for a perfect storm of everything to stop the job.
But with meticulous planning, and a strong team effort, the job was completed successfully within a night time road closure.

Fan replacement works with a Spierings SK1265 AT6 to a paper mill roof top beside the river Medway.

Nowadays drone usage is a big part of construction and lifting operations to get that great overview shot.
6 years ago when we first got drone shots while we were working at Kemsley paper mill of a Liebherr LTM1500-8.1 in action lifting pipe bridge sections into place, the crane looked like a toy.
Now it’s a regular thing to get that picture from above.

A busy week at a new energy centre in Bradford.
After installing a new two section flue stack on site, the rigging team then went on to lift and final position 3 x 30t Thermal Stores from Hartwell Manufacturing.
The main crane used was a Tadano AC 7-450.1 and Grove GMK1150L as the tailing crane.
Each 30t tank was brought to site under a police es**rt through the city in the evening ready for lifting first thing in the morning.

Many months in the planning this one and a great team effort to get this over the line, completed safely and on time.

5 days with the Liebherr LTM 1650-8.1 from Ainscough down in Folkestone, Kent.

Tasked by our client DDS to lift out the SKYLON, which was the central support structure for the roof on the Eurotunnel terminal building and the 8t roof trusses, this was the crane for the job.

The crane was rigged with 175t of ballast and 73.5m of luffing jib to have a capacity to lift the roof sections out from a 50m radius to a 77m radius.

Logistically it was a tricky job to get everyone and everything on and off site each day but the main task was keeping the live building open as the site is operational 24/7. 🚆

Another job to the long list of varied and challenging bespoke projects with have covered for DDS demolition over the years.
