A 1977 Silver Shadow II in “wedding white”, deteriorating in all the usual places — because these cars don’t maintain themselves. They survive entirely on the effort of enthusiasts who quietly keep them going long after Crewe stopped watching.

It arrived with dismantling in mind, though as always, the story is a little more complicated than it first appears.

JUST ARRIVED: 1976 Rolls-Royce Silver Shadow.

Originally gold. Now more of a swamp metallic.

The driver’s side is buried beneath moss, the passenger side appears to be growing ivy through the wheels, and every available crevice now supports its own ecosystem.

Structurally, it’s well beyond restoration — but it still has plenty left to give other Shadows.

SOLD: This 1974 Rolls-Royce Silver Shadow arrived wearing Cardinal Red, driving under its own power, and stopping only after a brief moment of reflection.

Originally destined for dismantling, we offered it as a rolling restoration project instead… and within hours of posting its arrival, it had already found its next custodian.

Proof, perhaps, that even slightly questionable brakes can’t hide a good Shadow for long.

Thanks to everyone who enquired — this one certainly caught people’s attention.

JUST ARRIVED: ‘78 Rolls-Royce Silver Shadow II in Walnut Brown
An extraordinarily brown Rolls-Royce from an extraordinarily brown decade.

Unfortunately, the front end has recently tried to occupy the same space as another car on a Scottish motorway.

Underneath the damage is actually a very decent Shadow II — which makes it all a bit more painful.
