**WE’RE HIRING – GENERATOR TECHNICIAN** 🔧
Bellwood Rewinds Limited are looking for an experienced Generator Technician to join our growing team.

Based at our Generator HQ in Melsonby, Richmond, North Yorkshire

We specialise in Generator Sales | Service | Hire | Repairs, and we're looking for someone who is confident working on diesel generators and enjoys diagnosing and solving faults.

THE ROLE
The position will involve:
✅ Servicing & maintaining diesel generators
✅ Electrical & mechanical fault-finding
✅ Generator repairs
✅ Control system fault-finding
✅ Generator installations & commissioning
✅ ATS/AMF systems
✅ Load-bank testing
✅ On-site breakdowns & call-outs
✅ Workshop and customer-site work

ABOUT YOU
We're looking for someone with experience in generator engineering, or a strong background in electrical, mechanical, agricultural, plant or similar engineering.

You should be:
✔️ Practical and reliable
✔️ Confident fault-finding
✔️ Able to read electrical wiring diagrams
✔️ Comfortable working independently
✔️ Customer-focused
✔️ Willing to travel to customer sites
✔️ In possession of a full UK driving licence with no more than 3 penalty points

Another happy Off Grid customer relying on Gale Power Systems.

On Wednesday, we received a call after their Hyundai generator failed. We tried to resolve the issue remotely, but ultimately a replacement generator was needed to keep the site powered.

This off-grid system supplies power to industrial units and a storage area, so reliable backup power is essential. We’re pleased we could get a replacement installed and help keep the site running

We completed and commissioned a full off-grid office solar system with battery storage (the second installation of its kind in the UK). This system was delivered in collaboration with Envirolec Smart Energy Solutions (London) Ltd and Energy Monkey, who engaged us to assist with the installation.

The installation uses a Victron Energy system, including a synchronising breaker and neutral-to-earth link breakers. This technology has been tested across sites that have been operating for at least five years.

Based on five-year performance, the system has delivered savings of several million pounds compared with running a standard generator continuously to support welfare offices, security, and other essential services.

It has been a busy start to the month. We completed a panel upgrade and a full generator rewire on a vessel at Sunderland Dock to bring the electrical system up to the current classification requirements. This work supports the vessel’s continued operation while carrying out surveying and supply-related activities around the UK. This panel type was not one I have worked on previously, and it provided a valuable opportunity to broaden my skills and knowledge.

Higher-set connection points were installed on both sheds, each fitted with a manual changeover. The site also has backup generators maintained by Gale Power Systems. A secondary hire connection point was installed, and the customer’s backup generator was supplied by gale power systems to support the site. A secondary connection point was also installed on the water bore hole to allow the generator to power it during outages, due to the remote location.
