We are delighted to see the material from the exterior wall of our 3daysofdesign stand given a new life through circular design.

The Salmon Pink structures found a new purpose as a kitchen worktop in a small container café in Halkolaituri pier in Helsinki.

This is what it looked like at 3daysofdesign on Copenhagen on June.

And here it is now.

Circular thinking can extend the life of materials and turn them into something new, functional and inspiring.

And who knows where its journey might take it next?

Halkolaituri, "Firewood Pier," is a historic pier in Helsinki. Once a bustling import harbor for wood, it now serves as a picturesque home for beautifully maintained historical wooden boats.

Almost 20-year-old Durat tables at were refurbished to look like new.

Over time, some edges of the tables had cracked and the surfaces were scratched. We sanded the surfaces and repaired the cracks.
The result is clear evidence of the value of long-term thinking. Well-chosen materials not only withstand use but can also be restored to almost-new condition.

Restaurant owner Ari Sarmanto is pleased and even a little proud of the project:

“Looking at them now, I can only say that it was a good choice. An impressive material, easy to maintain, and still recyclable – it was a wise decision back then, and it still is.”

Material Moodboard Workshop

Together with .europe / and Alexander Tetz, we had a conceptual workshop at our Showroom in Helsinki — reimagining circular solid surface materials through playful, hands-on collage practice.

Surrounded by the vibrant textures and colours, architects and interior designers explored materiality in a creative, collaborative way. Each material collage became a reflection of individual design approaches — and a shared vision for sustainable creativity.

Today we celebrated the wonderful, but so vulnerable Baltic Sea. Wild food chef served delicacies in the landscapes of the Turku archipelago.

To honour this unique sea we also took the plunge in the Baltic Sea.

Durat’s vibrant Murumuru collection, -08 colour range, has a new price: now 10% more affordable than our standard range.

The multi-coloured colour range is made by using only recycled Durat as granulate. Cutoffs from our own production, and those bought back from other fabricators, are granulated and the different coloured speckles are mixed and used as raw material for the new Durat.

For this special event we created a collection of ten delicious colours. Multicoloured speckles give an extra sweetness for the collection.
