Whether flat or round material or solid steel profiles – the requirements for magnetic lifting in the metalworking industry vary depending on the workpiece. With our Battery Lifting Magnets, we offer a range of models tailored to different geometries and load capacity ranges to meet your production requirements. The two tailor-made EPM Lifting Magnet Traverses FB6R-12T12 demonstrate what really matters when it comes to well-designed magnetic lifting technology in our customer’s production: the details that make all the difference in day-to-day practical use.

Designed for handling heavy, long metal sheets and profiles, both crossbeams combine a high loading capacity with well-thought-out functionality:

✅ Health check at Assfalg? Sorted!

At the end of September, we made a conscious effort to set aside time for our own health. At this year’s Health Day, all staff members had the opportunity to undergo a free health check and a posture analysis.

It wasn’t just about figures and measurements, but above all about one thing: developing a greater awareness of our own health and taking away valuable insights for our everyday (working) lives.

We’re delighted that so many colleagues took advantage of this opportunity, and we’re now even more convinced that health and wellbeing are simply an integral part of a good working environment.

💡 EuroBLECH 2026: What kind of machining do your components and workpieces require?

Deburring, edge rounding, chamfering, weld seam preparation or surface finishing – depending on the component, geometry and requirements, diverse and flexible machining solutions in industrial sheet metal working are in greater demand than ever.

🏗️ Magnetic force in practice: Safely moving 16-metre-long steel plates weighing up to 36 tonnes

For handling large-format steel plates, our client relies on a particularly powerful, bespoke solution: the EPM FB3-36T16 Magnetic Traverse. Two of these will be put into operation with immediate effect – either individually or, if necessary, together.

The dimensions of the steel plates to be transported are impressive:

🔹 Workpiece length: 1,500–16,000 mm
🔹 Workpiece width: 1,000–4,000 mm
🔹 Sheet thickness: 20–120 mm
🔹 Maximum load capacity: 36,000 kg

To meet a range of requirements, the magnet modules can be preselected in four stages. The spring-mounted arrangement of the permanent magnets, which are arranged in pairs, allows for the compensation of material irregularities. The system also offers additional functions during the handling process itself: the inching function enables the separation of sheet metal panels, whilst the integrated safety system prevents demagnetisation under load.

💡 A tailored magnetic lifting solution that is not only large in scale and can also be flexibly and safely adapted to different sheet metal formats and loads.
