🌙 Another Inspiring Evening Exploring Sleep and Cardiovascular Health – SOMNOmedics in Maastricht! 🚢

What a fantastic second evening in Maastricht! As part of the ESRS Sleep Europe Congress 2026, we hosted our second SOMNOmedics Scientific Dinner Cruise, bringing together experts for an evening of scientific insights, engaging discussions and valuable exchange.

The evening focused on the link between sleep and cardiovascular health. Martino Pengo, MD, PhD, from Milan, explored the role of dipping behaviour in cardiovascular risk, followed by Dr. Gert Küchler, CEO at SOMNOmedics, who discussed nocturnal blood pressure fluctuations (NBPF) and reverse dipping. Prof. Dr. Andreas Patzak from Charité Berlin completed the programme with insights into the effects of PAP therapy on NBPF and hypertension.

Together, these presentations highlighted the importance of understanding nocturnal blood pressure dynamics and their relevance to cardiovascular risk and the management of sleep-related disorders.

🌙 Science, discussion and a special atmosphere – SOMNOmedics in Maastricht! 🚢

What a brilliant evening! Yesterday, we held our first SOMNOmedics Scientific Dinner Cruise as part of the ESRS Sleep Europe Congress 2026. With just under 40 attendees, the event was fully booked – a huge success and a wonderful opportunity for personal and scientific exchange.

Under the theme “From Home Sleep Diagnostics to Targeted Sleep Modulation”, we explored current developments and innovative perspectives in sleep medicine.

🔬 An evening dedicated to future-oriented sleep diagnostics
Dr Gert Küchler, Chairman of the Executive Board at SOMNOmedics, kicked off the technical presentations with his talk ‘Efficient Access to Sleep Diagnostics through Home-Based Monitoring and AI’. His presentation focused on how repeated sleep measurements in patients’ own beds can help identify potential sleep disorders more accurately, how ambulatory diagnostics can improve the cost-effectiveness and efficiency of healthcare, and how AI-based analysis can streamline and accelerate the entire process.

The programme was rounded off by a presentation of the HomeSleepTest by Emma Peters from SOMNOmedics Switzerland, as well as the talk “From Diagnostics to Targeted Sleep Modulation” by Dr Felix Bernhard from Marburg.

AASM Basics & Practical Scoring Insights – Sharing knowledge, learning together! 💤🌍

At our AASM training course, we were delighted to welcome clients from a wide range of countries. The focus was on the practical application of the AASM scoring rules, fascinating case studies and the international exchange of experiences relating to sleep diagnostics. Our DOMINO software also provided the basis for some interesting discussions once again.

Alongside the intensive training, there was also time to explore Würzburg together: on a guided tour led by the Würzburg night watchman, our guests got to know the historic old town better. 🌙

From Julius Echter to Franconian w**e and sleep medicine – this week at SOMNOmedics! 🍷💤

Our workshop ‘AASM Basics & Practical Scoring Insights’ focuses on the practical application of the AASM scoring rules. Together with our participants, we explore sleep stages, arousals and respiratory and cardiac events – in a practical, interactive way and using fascinating case studies.

But there’s also plenty of opportunity for socialising outside the workshop. Last night, we set off on the trails of Julius Echter: during a guided tour of the Juliusspital and the vineyard, our guests gained insights into the history and Franconian w**e culture. A particular highlight was the impressive w**e cellar and the Old Pharmacy. We rounded off the evening with a meal together at the Vier Jahreszeiten.

Today, we moved from the w**e cellar back to practical work: AASM scoring, case discussions, sharing experiences and, of course, plenty of fascinating discussions about our DOMINO software.

These days, Würzburg brings together tradition, enjoyment, exchange and modern sleep medicine in a special way for us. 💤

🍇 Weinlese 2026 – und ein Blick in die Zukunft

Am Sonnabend früh war es wieder soweit: Unser Sauvignac hat 88 °Oechsle erreicht und konnte gelesen werden.

Der Sommer war besonders heiß und trocken. Unsere Bewässerungsanlage, gespeist aus mehreren Zisternen, hat dabei deutlich geholfen.

Um 7 Uhr morgens ist das Wetter noch eher trüb. Am Vorabend gab es noch einmal ein kräftiges Gewitter – glücklicherweise ohne Schäden.

Dann rollt der Vollernter an – ein Koloss und echtes Wunderwerk der Technik. Vom Weingut Arnold steht der Junior mit seinem Bully bereits in den Startlöchern.
Zeile für Zeile werden die Trauben gelesen. Was hängen bleibt, stibitzen unsere Hunde. Bei so süßen Trauben können sie einfach nicht widerstehen. 🐕🍇

Nach nur 45 Minuten ist der Spuk vorbei. 880 Liter weniger als erwartet, dafür Trauben in sehr guter Qualität. Die Ernte geht nach Randersacker in den Weinkeller.

Doch nicht nur die aktuelle Ernte beschäftigt uns: Im neuen Weinberg wächst bereits die Zukunft. Auf 800 m² haben wir neue PIWI-Reben gepflanzt – Sauvignac, Cabernet Blanc und Cabernet Jura.

Nun heißt es abwarten und schauen, was dieser Jahrgang bringt.

Im März 2027 wird verkostet! Wir laden schon jetzt herzlich dazu ein, unseren Sauvignac gemeinsam mit Neuigkeiten aus dem Hause SOMNOmedics zu verkosten. 🍷
