Unique cap-free lenticule approach. How does it work?

Lars Michael, CSO at SCHWIND eye-tech-solutions, introduced the new suite alongside Dr. Victor Derhartunian, Dr. Kishore Raj Pradhan, and Dr. Ivan Gabrić.

At its core is a consistent, unified user interface across SCHWIND ATOS and SCHWIND AMARIS, designed to shorten the learning curve and streamline workflows.

SCHWIND ATRIUM connects diagnostics and lasers on a single platform. For Dr. Derhartunian, this means accessing a treatment list online, making adjustments remotely, and having everything ready before flying in to perform surgery.

The panel also introduced EASE (epithelial all-femtosecond surface excision), a surface procedure performed on SCHWIND ATOS. Dr. Pradhan described the process simply: docking, creating the lenticule at the corneal surface, and removing it.

Dr. Gabrić shared results from more than 140 cases, reporting no loss of a line of distance visual acuity or contrast sensitivity. The multicenter STELLAR study, led by Dr. Ivan Gabrić, is expected to provide broader clinical data.
