Bhutan power generation to 10,000 MW by 2020 was an ambitious move given the many past delayed similar projects outcomes.

Financial viability and technical risk of PI is high. Not sure when PII project will be commissioned. JV or IG model with Delhi will not happened.

There are many lesson which we have accumulated while executing past many hydropowers projects, which we need to practically make use of, but it is not happening. Government need to ascertain viable projects and look at more dynamic international partners to participate with experiences and enhanced technology in hydropower sectors.

At one such meeting in Thailand, a company denied getting involved in Bhutan hydropower due to dominant presence of india in this sector.
