Z-Gyro Australia & NZ

Z-Gyro Australia & NZ Z-Gyro Australia is proud to be part the Z-Gyro worldwide community, launched in Australia at the Sydney Boat Show in August 2025.

Z Gyro currently manufactures 26 different sized gyros, catering for vessels ranging from 2t to 2000t SuperYachts/Ships

The ZGyro Z07 is designed for vessels up to 7 metres and delivers an impressive 2,600 Nm of anti-rolling torque from a unit weighing just 105kg.

12V or 24V powered, fast to spool up, and compact enough for a wide range of trailer boats.

The most convincing gyro demonstration is often the simplest: turn it off, then turn it back on.

After the Sanctuary Cove Boat Show, we had the opportunity to take a handful of interested boat owners out on an Island Gypsy 50 fitted with a ZGyro Z10.

There's no substitute for seeing stabilisation in the real world, so we conducted a simple test: gyro off, then gyro on.

The Z10 is designed for vessels up to 19 metres and 35 tonnes, delivering up to 30,000 Nm of anti-rolling torque while occupying surprisingly little space for a unit of its capability.

One of the things that makes the ZGyro unique is its practical design. The casing can be partially dismantled for installation and servicing, meaning many installations can be completed without major structural modifications.

But specifications only tell part of the story.

What really stood out during the demonstration was the change in comfort on board. The reduction in roll wasn't just something you could measure - it was something every person on board could feel.

This video shows one of the on/off tests from the day.

Hard at work… Day 2 done!

Welcome to the 2026 Sanctuary Cove Boat Show!

We're excited to showcase the Z07, the second smallest unit in the ZGyro range. Get hands-on with the unit on the cradle and experience its unique stabilisation, felt directly through your feet, not the boat's hull.

We also have testimonials and components like heat exchangers and pumps on display. Come grab some merch, explore the innovations, and enjoy the show. Happy boating!

We bumped into the Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show yesterday to begin setup… and copped absolutely pouring rain for our troubles.

That said, the gear’s in, the stand build has begun, and we’re looking forward to the show kicking off Thursday — with much better weather forecast thankfully.

You’ll find us in the Main Pavilion alongside names like Club Marine, Vetus, and Victron.

Looking forward to a big few days talking boating, stabilisation, and life on the water.

A quick update from Z Gyro Australia and New Zealand:

We currently have 10 units in the country, with 4 already installed and 6 projects underway. These installations span a range of pedigree boats, including a 37 Axopar receiving a Z2, an Edencraft 233 Formula, and a Black Watch 40. We're excited to be showcasing our Z07 unit at the Sanctuary Cove Boat Show, where you can interact with it, and a Z10 installed on an Island Gypsy down at the marina.

We'll be at the show from the 18th to the 27th. Come visit us at the entrance, veer left. We're also offering measure-ups and on-site visits on Wednesday and after the show concludes to assess your vessel's fit. We look forward to seeing you there!

“I didn’t think a boat this size could have a gyro.

Small boats feel everything.

Every wake, every bit of chop, every shift in weight - it all translates straight through the hull, especially at anchor.

That’s exactly where the Z0.5 and Z0.7 come into their own.

These units are designed for boats up to around 7 metres / ~3 tonnes, where stability isn’t a luxury - it’s the difference between enjoying your time on the water or being exhausted by it.

What makes these units unique is partly their size! One of the smallest units on the market!

But it’s also about what they allow you to do:

✔ Fish longer

✔ Move around the boat with confidence

✔ Reduce fatigue over a full day on the water

And importantly - they do this without adding complexity:

- No hydraulics

- Low power draw

- Compact footprint

- Simple installation

We often hear people say:

“I didn’t think a boat this size could have a gyro.

The reality is - this is where you feel it the most.

Because when the boat is small, every improvement in stability is amplified.

This is where the ZGyro journey starts.

We’ve just taken delivery of an Axopar 37 into Hidden Harbour, and this one’s going to be a really interesting project.
Next step is the installation of a Z-Gyro Z2 - a great match for a hull like this. Axopars are already known for their capability, but in Port Phillip Bay’s short, sharp chop, stability is what really changes the experience.
That’s where gyro stabilisation comes into its own - not just offshore, but in the conditions most people actually spend their time in.
We’ll be sharing the install process and sea trial footage as this project progresses.
If you’re heading to the Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show, come and see us - we’ll be in the first tent near the main entrance and happy to show you a demonstration of how it works and talk through how systems like the Z2 work in real-world conditions.
