Positioned directly against the conditions of the bay, this large-scale concrete home needed to balance bold architecture and expansive coastal views with year-round comfort and performance.

Delivered by Hemming & Nicholl Builders, the 7-star energy-rated residence features Thermotek uPVC window and door systems selected to respond to the home's scale, concrete construction and high-wind coastal environment.

Large openings connect the home with its surroundings, while high-performance glazing and carefully considered systems help maintain thermal comfort, airtightness and reduced noise inside.

The result is a home that feels open to its coastal setting without compromising on performance.

Why use four different window and door systems in one home?

Because each part of a project has different requirements.

For this large-scale coastal home in Rye, the window and door selection needed to balance expansive views and natural light with ventilation, thermal comfort and performance in demanding coastal conditions.

Lift & Slide systems create wide openings across key living areas, Tilt & Turn and Mechanical Awning windows provide controlled ventilation, while Fixed Picture windows frame the coastal outlook.

Rather than making one product work everywhere, it’s about choosing the right solution for each part of the home.
